Someone on RealGM said this trade was dead, or better yet never really anything since Riley has no intentions to trade Haslem. Don't know how much truth there is to it.
i wish the alston for Haslem Trade would happen already so i dont have to check clutchfans every 5 seconds, then get my hopes up when there is no update.....
rafer and sura for haslem, do it!! lucus to no hornets, do it!! keep kirk, luther and novak!! this off season rocks so far
I think we are waiting to see what Jannero Pargo does. Does he sign with the Hornets or elsewhere? AFter this signing, I'm sure there will be a domino effect into (1) trading Alston/Sura/Head etc and (2) signing Hayes or (3) combination of 1 and 2.
my concern has shifted to Troy Hudson. He's looking to be bought out of his contract in Minnesota which would make him a free agent. I wonder if Miami and Indiana would look to sign him...if they would, any trades we could make would probably be delayed until they figured that all out.
Hudson is not exactly a pg. He's a shooting guard in a pg's body. I think Miami is need of a distributor and Alston fits that bill.
So, everything is dependant on what Pargo is going to do? Ah, the infamous Pargo effect that's setting everything in motion around the league. Once he goes, watch the dominos fall...Tyronn Lue, Smush Parker, some NBDL point guards.... What can we do to pry Foster away from Indiana? The players I hope goes are Rafer and Snyder. I would rather keep Head for his sharp-shooting unless he's absolutely necessary to get that power forward we covet.
Why are we ditching Snyder? He can drive the lane. He is fairly athletic, and he is cheap somewhat. He plays the 2/3 Head on the other hand plays the 2 solely. His defense is below par, and his only asset is shooting the 3!. Last year, he did provide scoring when TMAC or YAO went down, but that was because we had no one else. This year we have James and Francis to provide that scoring.
Coca Cola Scola, I think Navarro is the real one to watch. Mempis just signed FA forward Andre Brown on Friday, leaving them very little money to sign Navarro. His agent should be done negotiating with his NBA suitors, Miami and Cleveland, by next week.
It seems Memphis also signed Casey Jacobsen, leaving no place for Navarro. http://www.marca.com/edicion/marca/305/nba/es/desarrollo/1020007.html
If people want to learn some stuff, listen to benchmoochie. He is one of few intelligent basketball minds on this site. I totally agree on both points. Snyder is a multi-skilled player that could serve us value. JVG intended on starting him last year before he got injured. In the long run, I see him as a reserve player on a better team. Head is one-dimensional and weak to very weak in several other categories. He is a huge defensive liability because he can't play PG, forcing us to have 2 smalls in the backcourt. Most people in here are blinded to Head's real value and potential. I see Head overseas in the next few years.
Okay great. the point is Head can drain the 3. We know that, but with our logjam of guards and tweeners, Head may be the odd man out since he only plays one position. You guys also said Novak can drain the 3. Novak is another 1 dimensional player. So is it wise for us to keep 2 - one dimensional players on the team?
I'm not saying Hudson is any good or that he's a good fit for Miami. I'm just saying to get the most value for Rafer, if we are indeed trading him, we want as few options available at point guard for the rest of the leauge. Plus, Miami could sign Hudson without having to give anything up in trade...which is why I hope he doesn't get bought out because at the very least he might slow down any trades the Rockets could make.
Check it out, we got Garnett!!! http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/Garnett_added_to_training_staf-232496-34.html
