My brother saw Wade at a Mavs game earlier this season right after the Cowboys let him go and asked if he'd go to Houston to become the new Defensive Coordinator...

He laughed and stated they need a lot of help...

Well, here's to hoping he brings that help.

It's good to see the fans starting to wake up and not accept this **** anymore. The Rockets get a pass because of injuries, but McNair is making Drayton look like Steinbrenner

    I'd rather have Marvin Lewis

So you think Gruden or Cowher wouldn't have better success than Kubiak..? Dude STFU, How are they playing hard for him if they can't put together 4 complete quarters, you are just contradicting yourself, It's Obvious you don't know anything about this team.

There won't be any personality clashes between Phillips and Kubes.

Is it, though? If Kubiak wasn't employed by the Texans right now, hiring him and Wade Phillips would be the definition of hiring retreads that failed at their previous stops.

While we're at it... Let's bring in Singletary as the linebackers coach and McDaniels as the Quarterback coach.

Yeah I'm with you, I want a loss too, hope for that top 5 pick. The Texans will mess it up and win. Garrard on IR now and MJD not playing, Jags may lay an egg.

We should bring in all those guys and have a reality show -- I guarantee it would be more entertaining then the Texans next year.

Does Phillips watch the action when the kicker attempts a field goal?

    Ultimate plan for Texans success:

Gary Kubiak - Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator
Wade Phillips - Defensive Coordinator/Provides facepalm pics
Ray Childress - DL Coach/Nicknames his DL the "clobber line"
Mike Singletary - LB Coach/Has goalposts changed into giant crosses
Bubba McDowell - DB Coach/Eventually murders Kareem Jackson with his bare hands
Billy Johnson - WR Coach/Choreographs all touchdown celebrations
Earl Campbell - RB Coach/Changes out gatorade with sausage on the sidelines
Bruce Matthews - Oh wait he's already an OL coach here roflwafflez!

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to DonnyMost again.

The singletary line is pure gold.

Small point of clarification: Wade Phillips is not (reportedly) being hired as a head coach but as a defensive coordinator - and he was anything but a failure at his last stop as a full-time DC. He took over the 27th-ranked Chargers and had them ranked 10th in his 3rd year with improvement every year prior.

And while, yeah - the Cowboys ultimately fired him in the middle of a truly dreadful season, I'd be careful calling a coach that won 34 of 56 regular season games, two division titles and made 3 playoff appearances (in 3.5 seasons) a failure in these parts, certainly in the same breath as declaring Kubiak one. Phillips actually has a better career winning % as a head coach than Gruden.

On paper, assuming you have to keep Kubiak, Phillips is a pretty doggone good choice. Not sure why all the fire and brimstone. He might not be "sexy," I guess - but his track record stacks up to pretty much any other viable candidate's.

The fire and brimstone isn't specifically about Phillips...it's about failing to make the big move and fire the captain of the Good Ship Lollipop.
