Ummmmmm no. That would be Demeco. I dare you to find ANYONE who'll say that Mario is playing up to his potential, especially considering his size and athleticism. He's COMPLETELY tradeable.

WRONG. But he is not the problem. The core of the defense starts and ends with Demeco. But trading mario wont help our defense.

folx seem reluctant to give up 1st round picks.
    This is not the NBA
When was the last time someone was traded for a 1st round pick?

Richard Seymour. Pats get the Raiders first rounder this year.

FWIW, Mario has as many sacks in 5 seasons as Seymour has in 10 seasons.

This. They'd be lucky to get a 3rd.

it might if it nets us some more draft picks that we can use to bring in true 3-4 guys...because paying a guy the money we will pay Mario to be basically not fully utilized (marginally out of position in a 3-4) is dumb if you can get value, otherwise.

the texans need as many draft picks as they can get, honestly. but they need to bring in some vets to play CB.

I think teams are often willing to give up future 1st round picks, but its much more rare to get a current one. Mainly because coaches know they need to get better NOW to not lose their jobs. Raiders got better immediately but their suffering of losing their pick is delayed, so it's something that a coach tends to want.
