I know, it reminds me of the thread someone started about someones blog which said he thinks the Texans may be leaning towards Young. It resulted in post saying Ha Ha, Texans are taking Young.

Or the news report from ESPN before Young declared for the draft saying the Texans were going to take Bush no matter what. That turned into people getting pissed saying McNair was stupid.

This isn't the first time McNair said ESPN was wrong

I'd lay off the strong language, because if you're wrong, you're liable to end up in someone's signature, mocked to the end of eternity and dismissed out of hand in all future draft discussions.

McNair has two sons that went to UT. Woody Paige is already on record (on TV) as saying that McNair may overrule Kubiak (assuming Kubiak wants Bush) and take Young because of his family's affiliation with UT. (And we're talking a strong "may" here, too.)

    By stating a fact, he's a fool?

It is a fact that no one, outside of McNair and Co., knows what the Texans will do with 100% certainty. That's all SWTsig said.

It's posts like this that really have me leaning towards Young.

I don't care if they want to add my comments in their sig. You know when Bush is drafted by the Texans im gonna rub it in so thats a 2 way street. Im not saying Chris Mortensen is always right but if you had to listen to Paige or Moretensen who would you believe? Woody Paige is terrible.

holy ****, are you just being dense or what?

i never said "the Texans WILL select Vince Young." nor have i ever said "the Texans will NOT select Reggie Bush." i prefer young, but i'd be happy with either.

you, however, have practically guarnateed that Bush will be selected... clearly through some magic, future-telling source.

as i said earlier.... you don't KNOW anything, and all you're doing is SPECULATING like the rest of us.

It is insane to say anything about the draft before running any workouts. I can buy the Texans strongly favoring Bush, but they better not guarantee crap until they see some workouts first.

The media has reported a story about you based on unreliable source and so everyone has been calling you an idiot or knucklehead for the whole week. So now you have to come to the media to tell everyone, 'No, I am not an idiot because I did not say it.' Nice. :)

I think everyone realizes that both Vince and Bush have the ability to be all world!!!

We also know that there will be other Miers, Shulers, Metcalfs, Ware's, etc. at the top of a draft.

We just don't want the Texans to come up in the short end of the stick. And in all likelyhood Bush would have a short career, as most running backs have; and Vince might still be leading teams into the super bowl years after Bush retired. It wouldn't even matter if Bush was a perennial pro bowler when he played.

Quarter backs usually have longer careers. And Vince has been so vocal about wanting to stay in Texas, quite possibly a reason he declared a year early (this is the best chance he'll ever have of playing for his home town team).

Don't mess up one of the best drafts in years, because if you do, you'll be plenty red in the face for years to come

It ain't Bush or bust. It's anyone but that UT f%$k. Look at alot of the people saying no to Vince. Lots of UT haters.

I don't think a Billionaire like McNair would do that. He's a sharp guy. I don't think he'd let school affiliation override the best business decision (assuming it's Bush, which is debatable imo.)

I totally disagree. If you were picking between 2 totally qualified and equal applicants, and one just happened to go to your old alma mater (or somehow was connected to you), the choice becomes that much easier, right? Uh, yeah, there's no nepotism in business. None at all. :)

Oh, no doubt about it. All things being equal, I would go with the UT grad. I just think Vince's throwing motion and the possibility that he runs a 4.6+ could hurt him. But, Vince is a winner and it's not just because he plays on a talented team. His stats could be alot better if the HOrns didn't blow out so many teams.

I have a feeling that both Bush and VY won't run at the combine. VY will have to pass and Reggie might have to do some agility drills, but I think running a 40 could only bring down their stock.

Well, it doesn't matter to me. He's fast enough. I wouldn't be surprised if he runs a 4.45 electronic (which, very few can do, inc. Matt Jones I believe), but some UT fans have said that VY is probably a 4.6-4.7 guy, which is absurd, imo. So, my post was almost tongue in cheek.
