Thomas Robinson can't finish because he looks 6'5.

Patterson and Morris weren't useful. Their poor play actively hurt the team. And they had no chance of panning out.

Of course we would. Presti was faced with needing to trade Harden and Martin was what he wanted. Perfect fit for their offense, and they do value the veteran influence (a bit much in my opinion with the Kendrick Perkins trade and, more particularly, the Derek Fischer signings.) Granted, it was going to be Martin and everything else he could get, why wouldn't it be? But not having that particular pick available wouldn't have killed the deal. Presti would have figured out some package and we would have agreed to it. Best trade for both teams, that one was going to work.

    Why does this thread exist?

    You have to ask Carl.

adelman didn't have a problem with roster turnover, he had a problem with morey getting involved in coaching moves.

In what reality is a guy who avgeraged 14 ppg 5 rpg, in 27 mpg, shot 60% from the field, 42% from the 3 point arc, all while averaging 0.67 TO/G and during his last dozen games with the team "actively hurting the team"? You complain about his D, but people whose jobs are to know, and whose jobs depend on knowing, complimented his defense and decide to put him out there 27 minutes a game.

patterson and morris both have no futures starting. this was a cap space move, didn't it generate an extra $2MM for the offseason.

the rockets aren't going to the finals, they will make the playoffs, and i loved pat patterson's game, but in the long run this doesn't matter

Who cares if McHale, Adelman, JVG, or whoever dont agree slightly with roster turnover? There is a reason why professional sports teams need both a GM and a coach.

Look, if McHale or any other coach had their way, the Rockets would still be rolling with the same team they had post Yao with Scola, Battier, Courtney Lee, Camby etc. and this team would be going nowhere in the playoffs until they all retired.

McHale has been on the other side of the organization before as a GM and understands like very well even though Im sure he doesn't always like the moves because they dont help him keep his job by winning games today. NBA coaches have some of the toughest jobs in all of sports because they are judged incredibly short term focused, and every game counts in the short term

Patterson could have helped this team this year a little bit with his team defense, but he was a comfort blanket player.... Its the GM's job to pull away the comfort blanket players when its appropriate even if it upsets the coaches and other players on the team. If its the right move long term it must be done.

I agree, although once we get a couple more players, whatever chips are left could be considered part of the team.

Can a mod just merge all of Carl's crap threads together? They're all essentially about the same thing; him being butthurt over losing Patricia Patterson.

Cool, I have a few questions, too:

Do you know what a sample size is?

Is 14 points and 5 rebounds supposed to be impressive?

Actually, the guy whose job it is to know traded him for "another lottery bust," but are you expecting me to appeal to the authority of Kevin McHale? Seriously?

    A dozen games lol

Exactly. I think it's just a sign of the times when everyone with a computer and an internet connection considers themselves an expert. You guys hang on every quote and there's way too many amateur psychologists on here. McHale hates Morey, McHale hates Lin, Morey hates McHale, Lin hates Harden, Worrell hates Drexler, etc., etc. And someone even brought up Lowry and K-Mart. Who gives a sheet? Meanwhile, the Rockets are a very good young team on the rise with good young players and roster flexibility. They are the absolute darlings of the national media right now but alot of you are too busy analyzing every quote and trying to look for rifts in the organization. Do you like every single person you work with? Are you still able to do your jobs? These are grown men yet some of you act like they are 13 year old girls. Just enjoy the team and the games.

that pick was the reason we got harden ... having lowry and the pick minus haren makes us alot worse than not having lowry but having harden
