maybe wasn't the finest analogy since the sports world really can't relate to the rest of our worlds...but your employer usually doesn't get into your health too much, it's kinda a personal thing you have to decide how to take care of it. Anyway, I don't think tmac deserves the criticism, he's tried to play through an injury and has made it through some games, and limped off on others. What more can you ask for? That he suck it up and let it get worse? It clearly affects his game. Give the guy some credit for trying to tough it out. Even if he's not making hte wisest decision.
Well, now that the MRI has been done and shown the inflammation I can understand him missing some time. If a guy can't play then he can't play but for him to go to the media and say he thinks it is serious but he doesn't want to know for sure is inexcusable. Couple that with the man's history and I think we are past the point of giving him the benefit of the doubt when it comes to minor injuries.
It's not really that surprising though. No one, especially guys, likes going to the doctor when it concerns something serious. I think a lot of people here can admit to putting of going to see a doctor - and the real reason being fear of what they'll find out. When you are very competitive and have gone through injuries before (like the bad back stuff he tried to play through), another injury that will require you to be on the shelf is very mentally draining, and in fact downright depressing. I think it's quite understandable why he wouldn't want to find out and just was hoping it would be ok.
