since T-Mac is gonna be out, the rockets need to activate novak.Maybe he can help put some points on the board against memphis.
Just watching the game again, to see when McGrady started limping etc. He did NOT start limping after the massive dunk. It was on the next possesion on the defensive end that he bumped knees or thighs (Charlie Horse) with Brezec at the top of the key. It was with 1:12 seconds left in the 2nd quarter, and right after that he starts noticibly limping. I think he just bumped his bruise again, after seeing it again, I am not all that worried. DD
He didn't get the MRI because no one insisted he get it. Pure and simple. This sort of thing happens all the time in medicine. Patients with a history of lung cancer are reluctant to get follow up chest x-rays or CT scans because they're "afraid it will come back." Patients drag their feet to get routine screening colonoscopies because they're scared, "they'll find something." Is this logical? No. Does it happen ALL the time? Yes. Those patients are scared. And many times, these patients have post-graduate degrees, so it's not like they are idiots. It's human nature. It's up to the doctors to decide whether the patient needs a test. I somehow doubt that McGrady is allowed to refuse a test that the team doctors would think he needs. If they felt a laxity in a ligament or a click on examining his knee (everyone here better thank god they didn't) he would have been in the MRI machine, IMMEDIATELY. They didn't so they're going with: bone contusion. My guess is the conversation went something like this: Dr: "Well on your exam I don't feel much to make me think it's anything more serious than a bad bone bruise." Mac: "Okay, man, but it really hurts when I jump or run." Dr: "Well we could get an MRI to sort it out, but I don't think we need to just yet." Mac: (thinking: no way, maybe it'll just go away, I'm really scared it's something bad, though) "Nah, man, let's just wait and see" Dr: "Okay, let's just see how it responds and go from there" He bumped his knee yesterday, and it hurt like a SOB, so he goes to the MRI machine. If it had been one of us, we would probably have been told to rest it for several weeks, and then have it revaulated and perhaps an MRI at that time. But the Rox have alot of $$$ invested in him, and they certainly can't let him take weeks off without a definite answer. IMO, it's gonna be just a bruise. Why? Because prior to him reaggravating the injury, he was running and jumping like his usual self. That makes it unlikely he has any significant structural damage that would require surgery. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway.
How come there is no update yet? But again, my guess is that TMac will be fine and just needs to rest his knee for a few days.
Result of McGrady's MRI He appears to have something wedged between the femur and the fibula where his cartilage should be. Looks serious.
LMAO CCR.. hilarious.. thing is, my mind was playing tricks on me.. I first thought it was serious and I kept staring at that thing for 5 minutes trying to recall stuff from my anatomy and physiology class and apply them to the MRI.. then I see the Vagisil logo and I burst out laughing..
He got blasted for pulling himself out and then refusing the MRI. So he basically said "I can't play but I don't want to know what the problem is" All the rational fans wanted was for this guy to do what is necessary to get back on the court as soon as possible. Claiming he couldn't play but refusing to get to the bottom of the injury he kept hinting at leaves us with no other choice but to question his desire and toughness. Is it really that hard to understand?
I think the man knows his body better then anyone else does. So the next time you decide to skip work because you're not feeling well, but don't decide to go to the doctor, maybe all your clients or customers should call you weak and question your desire and toughness right?
Maybe if Dave_78 had publicly admitted that he quit on a previous employer, people would have the same things to say. DD
TMac has officially become a distraction for this team. The team played great without him against Denver and ran the offense the way it's supposed to be run. I think a deal with Chicago or Philly might get done in a couple of days. Management has to make a move soon before our season goes down the drain.
They should if I continually miss work but call in to my boss every day and say I'm too sick to come in but I refuse to see a doctor. Of course, that would never happen as I'm known for coming to work sick and doing my job unless I am literally bedridden. Imagine that from a guy who won't make in his entire life what Tmac makes in a half a season (if not less). When someone can't do their job they are usually obligated to explain why. What is worse is when they claim the reason they can't do their job is so serious that they won't be able to do it for a long, long time yet they still refuse to give their employer the courtesy of undergoing a procedure that would reveal the cause of the problem.
Haslem is an excellent solid player with a ring. I guess if we did not get the first 3 picks, we can send can send our lottery pick for him. He is even better than Battter.
