but yet it's funny that artest still thinks tracy is a leader b/c he just said everything starts with tracy and players only follow him. i agree tracy isn't a good vocal leader. but yet all these guys still want him to be one.
cry more.. real men point out the inablities of other men in a nice way, which artest did, and then work on improving it together.
that's pushing it. T-mac had/has the potential to be an excellent defender, in toronto that was his job and he up until 05-06ish guarded the other teams best player, when t-mac does find the motivation and get down to it he is an above average defender. I can recall several occasions where he has drawn charges including a few this year. T-mac is also always serious about when he says things. I just don't know if he knows his own limitations very well. He has held to his word quite well, he seems to attack the basket a lot more this year on a bad leg. So either you don't watch a lot of games or something. T-macs major issue now is only that he's slower on defense so he can't handle more explosive 2-guards, it isn't the lack of effort.
The problem has never been effort. He hasn't been healthy. The last two or three games I've seen alot of improvement on both ends of the court. I think he's still adjusting to the offense because he doesnt get nearly as many touches as he used to. Yao is our main option now. Tracy has to learn how to play off of Yao better.
All these guys want him to be a leader? Last time I checked all "these guys" wanted him off the team. Artest is just sugar coating when all he means is mac is just too lazy. Some people...
it's not a coincidence they still look towards tmac as an example b/c tracy plays his best defensive game of the year, the team plays one of its best defensive game of the year.
I agree with T-Mac. Guys need to just shut up and play ball. Stop worrying about this this or that. Just play. Rafer needs to shut up also. Actions on the court speak louder than words. I guess they don't realize thats how you break team chemistry when you point out and single one guy.
When people criticize others they are really criticizing themselves. I think coming from Ron, I'm glad he said what he said--we all know he is an unfiltered guy. I think Tracy needed to hear that. Tracy would often say after a bad game, I don't know what we are, are we a defensive team? We weren't...this or that. He could have said that about himself if he really thought about it. But let's not harp on it. We have the pieces. Stay humble, stay hungry. And say empty quotes to the media and win. I think Tracy is understanding now. I'm looking forward to some progress.
The whole team needs to play solid D in every game. The team should get it going but I still am curious to find out if Morey will pull off a big trade or not. We all know a small one involving Head will be done no matter what.
For once, I agree with McGrady. If the players have beef with each other, they should discuss behind closed doors, not announce it to the world.
What are you talking about? Ron has not played good defense this year at all, especially when compared to his own past performance. He gambles like crazy and although gets a steal here or there he is constantly out of position. There is no way anyone can say Ron has played like an elite defender this year and thats what he has always been known as. For him to call out Tmac is ridiculous with how poorly Ron has played. Im not saying Tmac hasnt deserved the bulk of his criticism, but Ron has been every bit responsible for the Rox jeckyl and hyde season.
i think Ron's comment was taken out of context. i want to see what the question was and what ron's entire statement was as well. the media likes to only quote specific words that makes a nice sound bite. i think ron said that they need to improve their defense and it has to start with mac being who the team looks up to and it should improve as his knees get better. i dont see anything wrong with that, and i dont think it's a call out. as for people saying tmac talks too much, eh, what can you say? he gets interviewed a lot. do you want him to shrug off the reporters and say "no comment" all the time? that's ridiculous. but what's good about him talking is that he rarely criticizes the team, and he never singles out any individual. ive never seen a report where he publicly bashes yao inconsistency and disappearing in games, shane's bad performance so far, ron's constant chucking, rafer's bad shooting, AB's bad decisions, etc. that's pure class. even if those guys deserved it, tmac's never singled them all out. rafer, on the other hand, is a plain old douche. c'mon. he keeps on criticizing the team, using 'WE' or 'US' because he doesnt want to sound like a prick. he keeps on singling out players. what kind of teammate is that? id want a teammate who'd back me up. even if i play poorly, id want a teammate who'd say, "he's a good player, he's in a slump/injured right now. dont worry, he'll be good soon. ill help him out". why the constant criticisms? its not as if he's playing great basketball. if there's a cancer on this team, it's rafer. because his constant criticism/bickering is pitting the team against each other. adelman should reel him in, before he says something that's gonna wreck this team.
LOL the crazy thing is he lumps Alston with him and Yao Ming. Damn, now we know the real leader of this team is. No wonder Alston gets the lions share of the mins even when he's bricking 1-10
He still has to learn to play off of Yao better? Even though they are in their 5th season together with the Rockets? Wow!!! This is no wonder the Rockets can't get past the first round in the playoffs with those two together, except in last year's playoffs, T-Mac had to carry the load with Yao out.
Do you have a new version of high def that make Grady appear to put out more energy? I just have the regular high def and it "clearly" shows him half steppin it around most nights.
im a tmac fan first but i agree with you. on offense, he just hangs around the 3pt area, rarely cuts and just likes to dump it down low to yao. he usually jacks up a shot or two if he's free. way i see it, tmac's deferring to yao and his teammates. he'll still take his shots though but he's bought into his facilitator role too much and doesnt doesnt look to score anymore. you'll still see him try to carry the load sometimes when he feels his team needs him, just like those jacked up 3shots at the end of the last game we lost (forgot which game). but we usually see him dramatically improve his game when he's needed the most (when yao went down last season and during the playoffs). i would like to see him bring it every single game though, but with all the injuries he's had, i doubt it. it's a long season and i dont want him getting injured come playoff time.
