    Dang it.

I really want to believe this guy. I really want to believe that in the end he wants to play basketball and nothing else matter. I really want to believe he's can be a bit team-focused. I really want to believe he and Yao can take us there. I really want to believe he's thinking about the team before himself. I really want to believe what he's saying. I really want to believe he'll come back stronger & wiser.

    I really want to believe...

    sigh...

    nevermind.

    Whatever Tracy, whatever Rockets.

I'm just going to ignore everything Tracy for awhile...this whole Tracy thing is taking away my emotional high for the rest of the team.

I don't know, he seems really focused on doing the best he can, and he seems like he has learned from his mistakes in the past, i hope things are how they seem, we'll see, i believe in him

The insurance bit has got to play into some of this, and it may be what Sacremento might be after as well.

If it does and Tmac screwed the organization AGAIN, then it is just more reason to get him off the team.

I just don't think he is a team guy, he is a "me" guy.

If last year's surgury announcement and lakers better announcement didn't light the match - this should. Les was most likely spending the insurance money he was assuming that he'd get from the insurance payout. If this does not happen or brings question into the payout because of TMac announcing that he's ready 5 days before the Rockets have publically said multiple times what the schedule is for his return, the owner is going to be furious and that is never a good thing.

    {insert burning bridge here}

When team doctors tell a player he is healthy enough to play, then he is not "significantly injured." This is a concept that most McGrady apologists fail to grasp.

If I were the insurance company, and there is a legitimate reason why I won't have to pay millions of dollars, I'd investigate it very hard. So, if TMac legitimately can play and Rockets are holding out, wouldn't the insurance company be the first to pushing for his return? Knowing the way the insurance folks work, I can't imagine them sitting by while the Rockets screw them out of millions of dollars.

Sure they would be investigating, but they have to listen to the doctors in regards to when he can play.

And the Rockets putting stipulations like he has to go hard in practice for several days in a row before we play him etc....

It just seems like a game of cat and mouse to me.

Not sure the Rockets are ready to deal with him yet. I think they are liking him not being around and really enjoying what the team is giving them.

Also, I think one issue is how TMac defines going hard in practice vs. how the Rockets define going hard in practice. Drama, drama, drama....it's already started and TMac has yet to even play a game.

I wish both sides would get together on a plan, or if they did, both sides would stick to it.

Because this team is playing great as a team and is growing by leaps and bounds, they do not need a distraction right now.

I understand Tracy feeling like he has put in the work and wanting to get back out there, but he is part of the team, they are paying an enormouse amount of money to him, and he should have learned his lessons last year when he was in and out of the lineup.

All I know, is this stinks if you are a Rockets fan....it just stinks.

Why don't you wait until you know what's going on before you crucify the guy?

Insurance scandal? He's being selfish? Can't you just see what is going on?

Personally, I am surprised he'd try to come back so early - not that it's selfish, it's just stupid. He should be cautious, not overly optimistic.

It's dangerous for him and his body. You don't push these things. His knee won't be right for another year - Wade and Amare both showed that. Returning early doesn't help him nor the Rockets I think.

He's showing a lack of judgement if he indeed comes back not just the 23rd, I think he should wait until Jan.

I think its funny how last year people hated him for missing games. This year, they hate him for wanting to come back early.

Yeah, it is all the boards fault, come on Lou, you can't be that blind.

The reason people think this about Tracy is because his history is one of Peter crying wolf.

He has earned everything that is going on around here, "It is all on him".....

The very fact that he would EMAIL Yahoo without talking to his team first, is maddening for the organization.

What if they were going to announce it and build it up as a "He worked hard and is now back" kind of deal?

    Tracy is either:

    a. dumber than a box of rocks

    or

    b. doesn't give two craps about anyone but himself.

And either of those is not a good option, if you ask me.

And, for the record, you are free to "Wait" .....some of us are done waiting.

Oh come on, that is not it at all.....

This has nothing to do with wanting to come back early, and everything to do with him going behind the organizations back.

Him working hard and wanting to get back on the court is admirable, but him screwing the organization by going public with his own plans is despicable.

That is what people are upset about.

    It is very Iverson "ish"

Definately, injuries can't be helped. They're unfortunate and you hope players recover from that.

It's is all about how McGrady acts and what he says... This guy represents the Houston Rockets?

At this point, you don't know what was in that email. You don't even know if Morey is pissed or not at him. You don't know if this is a media creation or not.

    Screwing the organization? How?

Just wait a couple of days before you start a new anti-Tmac campaign. This incident shouldn't piss you off - you already have such a low opinion of the guy - if what you say is true, then what's the big deal? You shouldn't be pissed at all.

How is that "screwing the organization"? You have this knack of taking everything McGrady does/says and putting the most negative possible spin on it.

This has little to no impact on the Rockets. And I'd say both team and player shared responsibility last year for the handling of his return.

The Rockets have invited this stuff from McGrady as well by insisting "there is no timetable". If they were serious that he would not play until December, they should have said flat out "McGrady will not play until December". If you've noticed, they have not been too forthcoming on his status/progress. Frankly, I get the impression that they're hiding something.

I'm not trying to completely absolve McGrady. I think he should just to stick with the script the Rockets have given him. But I'm not going to call him a cancer if he has the urge to go off script. It makes him frustrating, perhaps a little simple-minded, but not a cancer.

And its this and only this that keeps me from slamming Tracy any harder.

on topic: How incredible that after all these years together, management and Tracy can't get on the same page, and STAY on the same page.
