IMHO this is nothing compared to the situation last year. This email got blown out of proportion due to what happened last year. Both sides are being careful with McGrady starting to feel asserting himself again.
Last year it was a major mistake even before the season. He should have never come back.

Just when my extreme dislike of TMac had started to wane a bit...he goes out and does something like this.

At least he is consistent in alerting the media instead of the team

    disagree.

his commitment to anything other than his own "superstardom" is the issue. he plays the team game when it makes him look good.

the inconsistent effort is there, sure. but the reason nobody likes playing with tracy is because the only thing he cares about is tracy. he wants to win because he wants to look like a winner, not because he wants to win.

Please quote me the players that don't like playing with Tracy. This is news to me. All of his teammates have always enjoyed playing with him. Perhaps a few have not enjoyed playing with him (although this is speculation) but I'm sure for the most part the current players would love to have a fully healthy T-mac back in the rotation.

Put yourself into his shoes. He has everything. A family, kids, he's made more money than most of us. He's had fame, done charity. He's got great teammates. Why ruin this because he wants to look good?
You can come up with something better than that.

    Parsing Tracey - From t-mac.com

"As for me, I have been practicing, training, and rehabbing hard for my return to the court. I’m in a good place mentally and my body feels ready to get back out there, so now I am just waiting on my doctors to give me the clearance to go ahead to play." It's a contract year, I'll suck it up... Promise.

"I’m going full speed at practice and am not being held out of drills anymore. I’m hoping to get out there as soon as possible, and with everything that my doctors have been telling me, it sounds like that will be sooner rather than later." They still won't let me scrimage because I have no lift on my shot.

All your comments and support and encouragement have really helped me fight through this to get to this point where I’m ready to get back out there and play ball, and for that I thank you." I don't read clutchfans.

Sometimes I wonder if he is just trying to do this to show other teams in the league that he calls the shots. So if another team is interested in potentially acquiring him, they need to know what they are getting....someone who doesn't take crap from the team. This lowers his value and we will get less for him.

yes, i was speaking in hyperbole.

if he wanted to win, he would have won by now.

at some point he would realize that winning is a reward for being dedicated to your craft, to executing the fundamentals, developing trust with your teammates in a team game, committing yourself to the behind the scenes work that it involves.

look at kobe, and look at tracy. tracy is more physically talented than kobe, but kobe demands to win. tracy demands a paycheck.

I think he's just referring to Wade's knee surgery, without specifically saying it was microfracture. Wade showed that coming back from any kind of knee surgery is not a good idea. His knee was still giving him pain, when he came back.

if they don't want him back, why not just trade the guy or tell him to stay home.

tracy is itching to play, and the longer he stays with the team, there is going to be speculation and unnecessary drama going on.

i still believe either tracy or the team is lying here in regards to him practicing. tracy said he's going all out and not being held back, the team says he's still practicing in spurts.

i think everybody needs to hold back a lot of their comments about tracy. We don't know how good he is. We dont know when hes coming back, no matter what is being said. We don't know if hes going to play better and be more unselfish, for the team not for him. We don't know much. He hasnt been healthy in like 3 seasons. So this could very well be a big deal. And don't forget about the genius that is Rick Adelman. As long as Tracy gives him consistency hes going to make it work. So just relax people. This drama is unnecessary. If Tracy comes back and is awesome you will retract a lot of your stupid statements. If it's vice versa, you will stick to your thoughts. Either way give it a chance, let it happen. If we get a healthy Tracy this will be interesting.

exactly durvasa. i think the rockets are hiding something too. and tmac is probably just frustrated because he's been ready.

whatever, if the team doesn't want to play him, trade him or tell him to stay home and avoid drama. this team is fun to watch as hell right now, and we don't want anything to take away from it.

like it or not, the rockets could handle this much easier if they update us on how tracy is doing, and yet they rarely do.
