hold on here now. You cant honestly sit here and say t-mac was never a great player. I see a guy who can do everything on the court. The only limitations he has is his health. Other than that he is fine, and one of the best players in the nba. You cant go a few years with being mentioned as either better or equal to Kobe and just be a "good player". You dont win a handful of all nba team awards with just being a "good" player. You dont get compared to george gervin with being just a "good" player. dont confuse right now with the past. Yea right now he may not be "great" but thats due to injuries.

In case anyone is missing the significance of Jeff's post...Tmac is jumping off his LEFT knee...which is the one he had microfracture done on in Feb. I did not say he was bad, just that he was not on their level....big difference. DD
The Raptors made the playoffs in McGrady's 3rd season. He may not have been the main guy, but in the playoffs, he averaged only 2 fewer shots per game than Vince Carter, so it's quite relevant.
he's already moving better than anytime last season. give him another few months, he'll be alright. just be really sure. that spin move was quick though.
dwayne wade first led a team BY HIMSELF last year and look what it got him, vs. a very young atlanta team who struggled mightily that series. this year, he'll lose in the first round again guaranteed. lebron is just a beast. he will go down as a top 3 player of all time when it's all said and done. it's unfair to compare tmac to lebron. he's the ONLY player in today's league who can take basically ANY team he's on to the conference finals by himself.
Wade is better because he attacks the basket so much and draws fouls.....you are right about Lebron, he is just one of the all time greats and IMO may push Jordan off his perch one day. DD

did you see how wade play this past playoffs? w/o shaq as a post presence and interior defender, zo to swat every shot out o the paint, jwill (13 pt on 44% in the championship run) to handle the ball and make 3s, walker (12 pts on 44%) off the bench w/ james posey... he took SEVEN 3s a game v. atlanta. it's not very easy to attack the basket when you're the only one out there basically controlling everything and having to do everything. if wade attacked more, they would have won. but i don't know if he had the energy after carrying the team. and i guarantee ya, wade will lose in the first round again this year. and it's not his fault either.
No way, the Rockets need to see where he is, whether he plays or not is up to them, the sooner they get a feel of where Tmac is, the sooner he gets a chance to play. DD
And where did that take him? Certainly not to the second round. What Tracy lacks is the killer instinct. With Tracy's talents you may be able to be a winning team, a playoff bound team, but definitely not a championship team. His carreer proves that. Championships are won by players with toughness, killer instinct, and who love to compete. Remember this is the same guy that threatened to retire 2 weeks into the season b/c he didn't like the defenses he faced. Thats a fact.
thats the only reason y i dont mind that t-mac is in houston right now, but i think they may be holding him back just a lil. i dont mind waiting till nov 23, but for a guy way ahead of schedule, its hard to believe he isnt ready yet to practice. I am worried that it will take longer now for him to get in game shape

You were doing so good, I actually started to like some of your comments. But if you look at what you are saying, you are contradicting your self again. You need to read over your comments, before you hit submit! You said," In order to succeed he, more than them, needs a good team around him". No one in the NBA can succeed without a good team around them; Michael Jordan, Hakeem, Kobe, etc. No one! I recall not to long ago that Kobe was pouting and threatening to be traded, unless the Lakers put some talent around him. He quit on his team in a play-off game (he did not shoot in the 4th quarter of the Phoenix series).... Kobe was looked at, as just being just a good scorer then. Funny how now, he is a team player, one of the Greatest of all time! That is what players like; Gasol, Fisher, Bynum, Odom, etc. will do for a team, a player. It makes them look even better, unfortunately T-Mac has never had a team of that elk around him. I still think Yao Ming is a good player, very good, but not great. In order for the rockets to make it back to the championship, Yao is going to have to learn to dominate. If you look back when the lakers won their championships in the late 90s and early 00s, Shaq was dominating. Now is suppose to be Yao's time - he has a short window! T-Mac can not lead a team to a championship unless he has a very good team around him, i.e Kobe Bryant. The Lakers have size, length, and they are athletic. They would never start a 6'6" center, as a matter of fact Chuck Hayes would have never been on their roster, period. If you look back over the 80's, 90's, to now, they always treasured size. the rockets organization has feel in love with the slogan "Size doesn't Matter". Until we are able to put on the floor a legitimate NBA team, with size and athleticism, we will only go so far.
Exactly. He is dunking off his left leg which is a great sign. And he does that with no effort at all.
I think you're missing the point. Grover has done his job. His job was to make his knee ready for a NBA season again and I belive he did his part well. The rehab is pretty much finished and as we hear all muscles around the knee are strong enough. Now it's about playing basketball, getting your onditioning and quickness back. He iw working on basketball skills now. And as DD said, Rockets want to control him which is good.
quoted for truth lebron, kobe, and wade would not have done much better with the teams a healthy tmac has had. you're just being ignorant if you really think tmac wasn't in the same class as those guys when healthy. he has sucked the past couple years because he hasn't been healthy, but to say he was never that good....get out of here. it's far too convenient to point to the cavs and lakers success now and say 'see, that's the difference between winners like kobe and lebron and a loser like tmac.' even if tmac comes back this year at a high level, you guys are still gona say he's not good enough if this team makes the playoffs but doesn't get past the first round. does anyone honestly think kobe or lebron could take tmac's place and lead this current team anywhere besides a 1st or 2nd round exit?
