http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6030990.html “My knee is about 75, 80 percent right now,” McGrady, 29, said. “It took longer than expected. I was expecting to recover 100 percent in four months, but the doctor told me it would be six months or even more. My shoulder had, after surgery, kept bothering me. I had another MRI and discovered I have arthritis in there, so I have to have surgery again on my shoulder. That’s something I have to deal with again this season, but my knee should be ready by opening night (Oct. 29).” hopefully now you know tracy is not talking out of his butt. the fact that tracy has even played in a pre-season game and looked "decent" is a great sign. he'll feel ready when he feels ZERO pain in the knee after playing or practicing. tmac knows this is a big year.
Well clearly Tracy Mcgrady doesn't talk out off his ass since he seems to get trashed the most for being honest.
so i think he had surgery mid-late may?? so according to the recovery timeline, he won't be fully recovered until mid-late november. so it's not surprising he still feels some lingering pain in the knee b/c it's been only around 5 months.
You are an absolute idiot. And reading that post made me a little more stupid. How does McGrady 'seem' like the person that would gladly give responsibility over? McGrady IS the person who will sacrifice some of his scoring load to get others involved in the offense. They are 2 completely different things. Are you a psychologist? Because you are telling us completely different things to what T-Mac is telling/showing us. How do you even know Mcgrady isn't working hard on his game? If you remember back to the off-season before McGrady had his first serious bout of back issues - you might remember McGrady was working hard in the gym to get bigger - the extra muscle gained contributed to the deterioration of his back. And champ - deffering to the other guys is what is going to help us win. It has been proven that McGrady cannot win by himself - no matter how good he is. So judging by your logic that we need to ship him out at all costs - New York come to the table and say we'll send you Stephon Marbury for Tracy; but you need to throw in next seasons second rounder and 2010s first round draft pick. That is the ONLY way we're going to deal with you. You would do it? Because we need to get Tracy out of here a.s.a.p? You are a complete idiot.
McGrady always try to pass responsibility to the other guys. It's why he doesn't drive to the hole and instead passes to Luther or Rafer for three when he's got a layup or a foul coming to him if he just drives. He'd rather people that dont know anything about the sport say, "Oh look, he's being unselfish and getting everyone involved!" Instead, he should be taking over because he's the best player on the team and he's got a wide open path to the basket every time. He's scared of contact and scared of taking the blame when he fails. So he'd rather someone else take the big shot and fail.
Did you watch ANY Rockets games last year? The reason he doesn't score everytime is because he's constantly double teamed on the perimeter, and when he does get into the paint, he always gets the attention on help defense. Thats why he passes out, and thats what you're supposed to do, and neither JVG nor Rick has ever criticize him for doing that. However, I will say that there are times where he gets in a zone where you would think that he would be more aggressive and attack the basket more; many times he does tend to fall in love with his jumper instead of putting more pressure on the defense. If you remember, LEBRON was criticized many a times last year and the year before that for giving up the ball, especially during crunch time. Do you think Lebron feared contact during those situations? NO. It's all because he was double teamed early, forcing him to find the open man.
Why do you seemingly only ever post when you strongly disagree with someone and then bash them with personal insults? Hows about a 'good post' every once in a while, or better yet - an original take on the thread?
his post was ok. it rebuffed everything that clown thewaterrox was assuming. the last paragraph was'nt needed, but he made pretty good points.
Let's all give this a break already. McGrady is probably only going to miss the opener, nothing more. It's amazing how we're not critical of Yao for missing half the season, back-to-back, one of which includes the playoffs as well. Yet I understand McGrady needs to lie a bit more once in a while. Satisfying fans is like reasoning with a bear. Just drop dead and STFU, and before you know it all will go away.
I dont disagree that it was 'ok'. I take issue with the fact he calls people idiots in every second post.
