I am OK for him to miss the opener if he plays like a man in playoff.

any surgery is major, esp. if it's the first one for a player of tmac's caliber. and the doctors told him it would TAKE SIX (6) MONTHS to fully recover.

but hey, i rather him miss the reg. season than the playoffs. and we all tmac is the last guy we can afford to lose in the playoffs.

I guess playing with a busted shoulder and knee is not playing through pain. he had to take a pain injection before games and had to get his knee drained at the half of every game when he had the knee issues. but yeah. he dosent play through pain.

u know wekko. tmac needs to play with a broken arm and leg if he wants to show he can play through pain.

playing with shoulder and knee injuries, that's nothing. any other player would play through that.

Actually, no...not every surgery is a major one.

You may be right about the 6 months to fully recover, but I don't recall reading anything like that. Do you have a link to an article?

Great post! I picked up the same comments. I think the coaching staff wants more out of Mac and he's using the knee to take his time coming back. The same thing has been coming across from Bullard and Bill. This could be Adelman prodding Mac and you said which will end badly with Mac traded. Bad for the Rockets because other team will not offer us anything for a player on his way out no matter what which was T-mac's exact situation when he left Orlando.

tmac said the doctors told him it would take 6 months to fully recover. go read the recent chron articles. he said that like twice already.

For everyone saying that it doesnt matter if Mac sits out for a big portion of the early season, as long as he's around come playoffs to get us to the 2nd round.

Have you actually considered that in order for that to be possible you need to A) make the playoffs and B) get a top 4 seed (ideally)

First month of the season is probably our toughest schedule-wise.

With the need to get our chemistry down, we could easily be something like 3-9 or 3-10 (dont have the actual schedule handy sorry) if not worse.

We made a similarly bad start last year - but 22 game winning streaks dont come around often.

I WANT McGrady in the lineup ASAP. Even if he can only go for 20 PPG.

There is a lot of work to be done....I dont see why the Celtics would be scared of us just yet.

    1) tmac NEVER said he will miss the season opener FOR SURE.
    2) tmac NEVER said he'll miss a lot of games (and we're not sure if he'll miss the season opener)
    3) the last few yrs, tmac has missed less than 20 games. only 05-06 was a really bad year in terms of games missed.
    4) we have ron artest to try to fill tracy's gap

but once again, the season opener is more than 10 days away. until tracy is scratched from the starting lineup on opening day v. memphis, we don't know if he's playing or not.

right now, he's simply not ready. 10 days is a long ways.

Tmac getting traded?. jumping the gun? yes, lets trade our best player over some media speculation. idiotic. and tracy never said that its set in stone that he will miss the opener. he says its better to be safe then sorry. last season he rushed it and it become worse as the season wore on.

Thanks. I was too lazy to go back and reread the thread (and credit you) and to search around, I didn't put a "[sic]" next to or in the middle of my quotation marks in my later post.

But I do want to be clear here: I don't care about the preseason, and if TMac has been doing what he wants to do I'm cool with that if - and only if - he and the coaching/medical staff are on the same page.

I think we all just tired of this dude giving flip flop answers concerning his health. One day he's good, the next day he's not sure. Sounds like female to me. Also, stop talking about and tell the media you'll be back when u get back.

Thankful for Ron Artest, please do not put Luther at the SG.

I also don't care about the record in Nov/Dec, because we've provded w/o Artest and Yao we can win.

    Battier get healthy soon.
