If we have no serious to Yao or T-Mac yes I believe we will get past the first round. Theres no doubt in my mind that when healthy we can beat any team we have to play.
Yes that sound just about right, but then when he scores 30 or more points they say hes one of the best players in the world.
I'll try to put it in English this time: we have a player with superstar talent but a thousand reasons, legitimate or not, to avoid playing, and whose $19 million salary, WHICH DOES NOT COME OUT OF MY POCKET, could be put to better use than helping my favorite team either not make the playoffs or get kicked out of the playoffs in the first round.
Dude almost all-star calibur players are overpayed in any sports. Overpaid + athlete is pretty normal. Theres a ton of bad contracts in the NBA (and in sports) that it makes Tmacs looks so reasonable.
I have been giving him a break since his rookie year in Toronto... after 10 years we should be demanding more of him... not making excuses...
what excuses did he make? the reporter probably asked him, "what are your chances? you still believe this team can reach its potential?" what do u expect him to say? don't talk to the media at all all the time and get fined? are u going to pay the fines for him? if he says, "nah man, my team is under achieving so i don't think we are capable. we're going to the lottery this yr!" this is one of his positive articles and u still say he's making excuses?
Better use how? By signing on 3 or 4 more role players? I hate to break it to you - but we are loaded with role players. We got 2 freaking teams. Again, not one, but 2 teams. We don't need more role players now, what we need is superstar talent. And you can't get superstar talent better than we have now. So please, get a grip.
Mcgrady just needs to get on the floor and stay healthy and all this trade talk and impatience will stop. He's one of the best players to wear a rocket's uni and I have confidence that if healthy he will help this team reach 50 or so wins. It's easy to hate him as long as he is living up to his soft label off the court with these stupid interviews, but on the court he is special.
im talking about you Tmac lovers.. who have been making excuses for him for 10 years... but... the fact that he is talking... rather then doing on the court is all I need to know...
that's not the point. he's talking about having faith in the TEAM. he didn't make excuses. he didn't make any proclamations that are outlandish. your argument is completely off-topic to the thread. PS - and i blame him completely for last yr's loss to utah. he didn't provide the usual 30ppg, 7 boards, and 7 dimes.
grow up, T-Mac, u r player, not talker, suit up, go to gym, talk big, do nothing, how many these kinda players in this league?
yes I like to bash Mclady anytime I can your right... when you take the most shots on the team per game... like 20+ per game you should be scoring atleast 30 points...
Oh since his rookie year? What breaks were you giving him then? So how would you criticize him this time for saying he has faith in the team? What was wrong with that? Will you whip out the "he should just stfu" line? A reporter asked him a question and he answered it pretty diplomatically. Now I understand that you're a compulsive T-Mac basher, and that you try to make it seem more understandable by saying that you gave him "lots of breaks", but there is nothing to bash here. If you're just going to whip out some of the signature lines, well, they don't really apply here. Maybe you should read the article before posting, because you obviously didn't get it.
That's true. I remember the Francis hate too. Seemed like everybody wanted to trade him for Kirk Hinrich or something.
