After the playoff loss to Dallas in 04-05, for some reason, that summer T-Mac decided to go bodybuilder on us. We were all excited about the power it would add to his game, well at least I was. Remember that picture of him and O-Dawg? In hindsight, that decision to put on muscle mass marked the beginning of his back problems. This year, it seems he has done a 180 in his fitness goals. Now, he looks light and lean, like we've never seen him in a Rockets uni. Muscle mass be damned, he's already strong enough. This is the skinniest I've seen T-Mac as a Rocket, and that's a very very good thing, especially considering hs back. Defenses will feel his wrath this season.
I agree, it has to be that Tmac is in better shape. spacing doesn't affect his FG arc, but you can see that he really has lift on his jumpers right now and his arc is perfect.
Haha, wait until McGrady jacks up an 8/25. Besides this is a fluff piece anyway, wasn't McGrady talking about retiring and playing baseball last year around this time? What came of that? Yao is already back in the low post. It looks like Adelman is adjusting his offense to get Yao involved, and we'll be seeing the same old stuff.
it's both, tmac has had time to "mentally" put the injuries behind him. but the greater factor this year is that with yao OUT OF THE LOW BLOCK, it allows all the other scorers on the team to have some space to attack! we've had more drives in the past few games than i saw all of last year! (ok thats a stretch, but you get my point...)
We need Yao to win a ship, but lets get thisng clear, this is and has always been TMac's team. Things go so much smoother when Mac is on as opposed when Yao is on. Just look at tha rockets record without Yao and then without MAC to see what i'm talkin about. This team goes as Mac goes, but we need both to be on their game to get that ring, YA DIG!!!
Right now it looks that way. But last year around this time it looked like it was Yao's team for sure and McGrady was washed up. Hell he was even talking about retiring and playing baseball. The situation could change quickly. I believe your assessment will be proven false by the end of the year.
but yao is not washed up. yao played great in the first game. but the offense right now is at its best when tmac takes charge that's all. adelman's style of play suits tracy better. adelman also said there are many more plays/ways to get tmac the ball where he can operate. so expect more explosions. yao will be that consistent force. we need yao to get his 23 and 12 in order for us to beat the best teams b/c tmac can't do it alone as has been proven. one guy is not going to beat great teams.
T-Back is still a punk b**ch, he was very scared against Kobe, and i wouldn't be so quick to jump on his bandwagon for win a 2nd game when we got 87 more to go
I'll tell you what I expect; I expect that these first two games are flukes, McGrady will jack up a few 8/25 games soon, and he'll be back to the 25/6/6 we're used to seeing.
opps, typo yall anyways, he still got 80 games for his back to flair up, or for him to make another fake "its on me" speech, after which he punks out
