    I think it is pretty smart decision, let him rest and be ready for the season. But yes, he will have to play some minutes in the preseason as well just to get into the game shape

    Sure enough. A lot of these posters haven't read the article, or have reading comprehension, before they make derogatory comment just by looking at the title.

    Tmac needs to get some preseason games in so the other players can adjust to lack of intensity on the court when McGrady is out there. Seriously, I watch these guys go out there and play like their lives depend on it and all I can think is how much of an intensity killer it will be to have Tmac out there. The team is better with him than without but the gap in performance is closing quickly.

    Maybe his minutes will be low enough that he can actually get dirty and play like the rest of the team. Maybe his pride will actually motivate him to match the effort of his team mates. The "he has to conserve himself because he does everything for this team" excuse is dead.
