Yes, that's because defenses have to play to protect against his scrambling. He lacks arm strength, form, and intelligence, however his running ability makes up for many of those deficiencies.

I agree. I thought QBs couldnt consistently run effectively in the NFL. But Vince is showing that maybe it is possible if you pick your spots and run smart. He seems to get lots of 1st downs and TDs untouched. Plus he can get stronger.

So what you're saying is that Vince Young can make the passes he has to make? Thanks.

correction, he's not a sixty percent passer yet. he's had games over 60%. running ability makes up for intelligence, that's rich. look obviously you always try to bait guys with intelligence comment, so I'm not gonna argue about that. 8-4 , that's all that matters, but hey you can also cry yourself to sleep knowing you are smarter than him. maybe one day you'll make millions playing qb since you're so damn smart. bwaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh

trader, you should have came out the first games he started. you have no current leg to stand on. vince has results, and improvement passing, and wins. you might as well wait till next season, like you did after the rose bowl

Consider the source. T_J is our very own Merrill Hoge - fitting the results to his own reality. Suddenly, Vince has gone from "he's going to take years to reach his potential" to "he's maxed out". Mario Williams is the better pick because he will get better, but the QB - the one position that always takes time - is apparently not going to improve. More incredibly brilliant analysis by the resident puppet who's been wrong about everything relating to Vince Young for over a year now.

Ok, so you admit to falsifying your supporting evidence. Nice. Vince's QB rating is the lowest in the league with the exception of Joey Harrington and Bruce Gradkowski. He has thrown for 11 interceptions and 12 td's. This is your all-world passer? If you don't think his running ability is his bread and butter, then son, you just haven't been paying attention. To my intelligence comment, on the objective wonderlic test, Vince scored less than LITERACY. He didn't just do poorly, he did so bad that someone who can't even read could have beaten him. Sadly, the results had credibility simply because when one listens to Vince, let's just say you aren't likely to mistake him for Billy Shakespeare. His running ability, and the defense and special teams of the Titans have masked what has otherwise been a bad season for him.

    Anything else to add, pgabs?

so why wasn't kerry collins's play masked?

largest comeback by a rookie in nfl history.

biggest winning percentage by a rookie qb

most wins in a row by a rookie.

but hey, he's stupid, I'm sure his 36 million won't comfort him

I'm sure his teamates who absolutely love him and have annoited him the leader of the team as a rookie care about his eloquant speaking. how literate does he have to be to fill out his deposit slip.

Lastly, the fact that students and alumni of The University of Texas -- a school devoted to the pursuit of higher learning -- literally worships a guy who left school early, has trouble cobbling together a grammatically correct sentence, and scored less than literacy on a standardized test, is highly ironic.

Anyway, my point is made, back to the Super Mario discussion.

but it doesn't matter to you that mario actually left after three years, truly leaving early, but vince left after four.

how do you say it, oh yeah

But, who won the game, BRICK? I didnt see Mario manhandeling him.
Mario may turn out to be a good player (I dont think he'll ever be great), but he will NEVER impact the the game Vince does.

That's because Brick got double team help for the whole game. He needed it.

Was this supposed to help your argument?

A thread about the health of our new DE pops up and VY becomes the topic.

VY will be exciting to watch, but he's not on our roster. Mario is on the roster. Hopefully, he heals and has a great year in 2007.

Ok....even though I disagree with you about most of that.....even if it were true....he still HAS that ability.....and that ability makes him special.

As for Mario.....that sucks for him, and it is admirable that he is playing through it. I hope it is a one year deal and not that he has chronic problems with his feet.

How is 3.6 per carry and 8 per reception tearing up the league? People will not admit it this year, but bush is nowhere what they expected. They can paint this picture of this and that, but c'mon. Before the season, i expected 50 tackles and 5 sacks for williams. He got hurt and still almost got that. Next year he'll be double digit sacks plus he plays the run instead of dwight freeney and never plays the run. If anyone watch football they will see that he has to read then react as opposed to get up the field and give up huge running lanes like freeney and some of the other guys. Once they get the inside rush solved and they start playing with some leads, it will be a different story. If you want to talk about not taking vince, thats a different story. I think Kubiak needed this yr to really see what he had in and carr and now he knows. Speaking of bush, if you rate the rbs in the draft, he would probably be behing Jones drew, addia and maroney. He scored 2 double revers and td's and 1 run for more than 20 yds.

You're conveniently leaving out the fact that Reggie has 88 receptions in addition to his 565 yards rushing. And has scored 9 touchdowns.

Plus you say 8 yards per reception like it is something bad. Andre Johnson is only averaging 2.7 more yards per reception than Reggie and he's a wide receiver.
