What's happening? I can't believe all these scrubs think they are the sh*t already. Summer league isn't just for players without contracts/trying to make the team, its for scubs like you!

My friend's younger cousin played with lucas at bellaire. he was the other starting guard on the team with lucas and okafor. lucas was the same back then. you have to understand, he's been pumped up all his life being jl2's son. he can't help it. you see it in his game. he's always been sort of a ball hog, but one thing you have to say is he plays hard.

    Quick learner? LOL.

You can't play D and you don't know how to involve your teammates in offense. You never showed any sign of improvement in these two glaring weaknesses during the last season, even though your poor shootings were generously tolerated by Rockets fans and coaching staff.

    You ain't no Earl Boykins.

Stick your ass in NBDL or drop dead.

Eh, let's release him and use his spot for Lior Eliyahu.

    Yeh, that's the ticket.

I think more than anything, what we are seeing is that Van Gundy had the correct read on these guys (JL3, V-Mac, Swift, etc.).

Very good, now we have only 3 PG's.
Why doesn't he join Suns to backup Steve Nash? Or maybe Steve can back him up?

"I've never been in this position before"

Thats because he's never spent a full season in the NBA before. You want PT go to the DL.

That being said, I hope a team picks him up and he does get PT. Maybe he can even be a valuable trading asset. Who knows.

I'm still semening (my own word) over that pick and roll with Billy Span and him towards the end of the year. Big Jake cocked it. Dunk of the year and play of the year as well...

Aaron Brooks is much better than John Lucas III in basically every facet of the game. he's much better at penetrating, passing, and shooting. he also can CREATE for himself and others. brooks is very quick and i dont think he'll be as much of a liability as lucas was defensively.

Thank God JVG is gone. What a poor manager of people.

As for the topic, I have no problem with Lucas doing what he thinks is right.

But, I am curious as to whether Morey actually is a relationship guy, because he seems to not talk to the players directly.

Which concerns me, the best GMs have relationships with everyone in the organization.

he got enough chances to show his stuff in the regular season under JVG...he couldn't shoot with any consistency or know how to use his speed on the defensive (and offensive) end to be effective role player. He's got to face the fact that he's a scrub with no potential. Vspan on the other hand didn't get his chances to show his goods.

Sentiment echoed. VSpan and Jake had the potential to form the core of a much more potent 2nd Rocket unit in the late half of last season, but JVG wasted that opportunity because he is too small a man to open to bold idea. Gundy's ill-advised insistence to play JL3 off the bench came back to bite his own ass. It's a shame Rockets were taken down with a failing Gundy in the process.

My exact sentiments as I read the article. Lucas wants to workout and "spar" daily against NBA caliber players instead of the Jared Jordan's of Summer League. That's what I'd do if I were in the same position.

    Morey? Still waiting...
