Yeah, i've also heard how Morey is very high on Reed (no pun intended). I'm a victim of my own location. NBA League Pass doesn't carry the pre-season games (to my knowledge) so I haven't gotten to see Butler or anybody else play yet. If he's really that bad out there and it makes sense to cut him then I support it. Reed is a bit of an unknown to me too so i'll take your word for it. I just hope that the Jermaine O'Neal quote that you're endorsing in your profile doesn't reflect your ability to judge basketball talent, that's all.
Pittsburgh. My buddy & I that always order it were told by Comcast that they only carry regular season games.
Cutting Butler is a huge mistake....Mutumbo is way too old to be relied on for heavy minutes....we know both Yao and Mutumbo are going to get injured at some point in the season, who going to play then????? Plus I think he's going to turn out to be a decent baller........
Scola? We all know he is too short and weak to handle the Fabricio Obertos, Amares, Diaws, Okurs, Diops, and Dampiers of the western conference. Adelman seems intent on using Scola as the primary backup C.
I love how half the posters here laughed at San Antonio for "giving" us Scola and are now baffled that Butler turned out to be expensive dead weight. Do the math, people. The Spurs aren't stupid.
puh-lease...what have they done recently? i was giving him the benefit of the doubt..."maybe he will step ip up this year and get-it". I need to stop doing that but even with the benefit of the doubt, i never expected him to be more than a reserve.
Dampier, Diop and Oberto don't really have an offensive game. Scola wont' have a problem with them. Amare and Diaw dont' have power games or rely too much on post games. Scola's quickness is actually a benefit here. Okur is a three point shooter and Scola can easily deal with that. Scola will have problems with centers that dominate the post but those are few and far between in the NBA today. I think he'll be fine.
I mean has anyone has ever seem Reed play for a consistent minutes? I mean as far as I can see, his shot is god damn awful. Maybe he's a desmon mason in disguise. I don't know what's morey got upon his sleeve, but I really hope cutting mike harris does not turn back to bite our ass one day. I just hope spurs don't sign him and bring him off the bench to abuse tmac like utah did with harpring.
Butler looked horrible during the preseason games I saw. It would have taken a tremendous leap of faith for me to believe that he was a diamond in the rough waiting to be developed. So unless we pick up Juwan Howard or some other veteran, the frontcourt looks to be Yao, Scola, Hayes and Mutombo, with Landry picking up the scraps. IIRC, Adelman played Hayes and Scola together a few times during the preseason. Maybe he liked what he saw.
I was hoping Rockets could keep Butler but It seems they would cut him 2 BAD but we don't need them anyway.
I like Lucas and hate to see him go. I had hoped he and Brooks would develop and turn us into a speedy team. Butler, who cares? He surely didn't seem to care, at least he didn't show much energy in his play. Deke put him to shame in his limited preseason minutes. Heck, Deke looks like he's got 2-3 seasons left in his tank. Now I'm hoping we get Mike Harris back.
LOL Lucas doesn't have any future in the NBA. Even if he stayed in NBA he wouldn't play. Damn this guy is quick, but he can find his spot in Europe. We don't need him here, Brooks is better I think. We still have James and Alston. Lucas has nothin' to do.
Not necessarily. Say thre teams were interested and thought they could get him for nothing just by waiting. Two of the three would be wrong. But I guess that is just an acacdmic discussion at this point.
