Lowry was a new edition that had joined the team a few months before. Let him perform bad in the next playoffs after having a training camp, and spending a year with them team before you can declare he's subpar.

Rafer did ok with Orlando last year, and he stunk.

    An an FYI :

    Lowry's playoff stats

    19.5 min per game
    .333 FG%
    .250 3pt%
    2.9 rebpg
2.5 apg (teams stop the transition in the playoffs)
    1.3 tpg

    Not very good, downright Raferiffic.

Has nothing to do with it. His game has no upside in the playoffs.

Not unless he can shoot, he could really help himself if he did like AB, and started doing a little more of the midrange game.

Lowry barrels in, and tosses it up there, sometimes it goes in, but he is hoping for a foul...

I guess Morey is building a regular season team that is destined to lose in the playoffs.

He's actually a good mid range shooter, but he's a releuctant one. Similar to steve blake in terms of letting it fly. He doesn't have to be a 3pt shooter to be more effective in the playoffs, but he needs to be more assertive when the chances come up and be confident.

I don't think he's doing it on purpose, but maybe he wants a teams that can challenge for the best record in the league. Just like he keeps talking about adding yao and they will be ok. Nevermind the fact he will be limited big time or that the west is getting stronger. he won't let everyone in on the plan.

I'm sure Morey has thought of this. These players are still highly valuable.

You guys are exaggerating the difference between playoffs and regular season in fouls called. And completely ignoring that defense is more important in the playoffs.

Hopefully.....we need his energy off the bench when our starters are struggling.

Morey is accidentally creating a crappy playoff team? I'm unconvinced.

Can't you take a one year tender and become an UFA? Like what David Lee did? Bird Rights matter if you want to be able to pay a FA more than other teams.. not sure there's much benefit with having them with Lowry. Having him as a restricted FA is better for the Rockets, since they can just match other teams offers.

What you're missing is free throws are rewarded to superstar players in the playoffs. Not only that, defenses are alot better and more detailed. It comes down to making shots. The rockets have struggled through the years with guys who cant create and make shots. In the playoffs, this is huge with a capital H.

You're exaggerating how different the playoffs are. Drawing fouls is still huge, with a capital, bolded H.

Some guys are built for the playoffs. If you look at the playoffs, the guys who can take and make shots have a huge value vs a guy who can't. Brooks can take and make contested shots and thats something lowry can't. The super starts get the calls in the playoffs.

This thread has moved from, Lowry looking for a starter position to Brooks vs Lowry and finally to Lowry not being very effective in the playoffs.

Morey is going try to keep Lowry in a Rockets uniform regardless. As to how Lowry will do in the playoffs may depend on him shooting better mid range shots.

Weird that we are acquiring all these guys who aren't built for the playoffs.

Lowry sucks, but we need him back. That's what I'm getting from some posters.
