meh...the lucas trade is fine but I don't see any point in doing the other 2. i'm surprised we aren't getting more feelers for luther. there has to be one GM out there who wants a young sharpshooter.

Travis Diener, need to replace Head's 3P shooting. Also knows how to create for his team, is familiar with creating shots for Novak.

I don't really see much of a difference between Cook and Novak. Anybody know much about Singleton? Is he a good athlete?

I thought he was a garbage time guy for them. Another casualty of the ex-Clipper curse on the Rockets?

I live in LA and watch all the Clippers games. Singleton is an excellent athlete; a run and jump athlete on about Trevor Ariza's level, only stronger. He's an excellent rebounder for his size too. He tries really hard and doesn't play dumb. Those are the only really positive things I can say about him.

He has very weak ballhandling skills. His jumpshot has good form, but he can't hit anything consistently. He tries really hard defensively but gets lost sometimes. Doesn't really have much basketball skill. The Clippers tried really hard to develop him but he's only regressed. I like him, I like his attitude but he's just not an NBA player. Trade Lucas for him? Sure, why not? But I'd much rather have Kleiza.

Diener is not an NBA player. I've seen him play a lot and I have nothing more to say about him than that.

    As for these rumors.....

    WEAK

I suppose I would be in favor of the Singleton rumor since JLIII is now kind of useless. Although between him and Reed it's hard to see both actually making the final roster.

I also find the irony in the Mavs rumor to be kind of funny. So basically the Mavs drafted V-Span originally as a second rounder then turned around and swapped him for Luis Flores, and now they want him back for another second rounder? Interesting.

My biggest fear: V-Span agreeing to stay with the Mav's and blowing up.

wasn't spanoulis originally drafted by the mavs and we got him for a second round pick? what the hell would be the point of making that trade again, only in reverse??

I think we can get more out of Head than just Brian Cook. Ideally, I would want Head as part of a package for a real impact player.

Cook-Head ideally makes sense for both teams.

    1) No Way to the "Spanoulis for 2nd Round Pick." The only reason I could think of us doing it would be if they think Sean Williams will still be around at the 34th pick.

    2) I would do the "John Lucas III for James Singleton" Deal. (Though, Singleton will be a free agent this off-season)

    3) I rather keep Luther.

Don't know anything about Cook, so I can't comment on that.

As far as Vspan to Dallas for a 2nd round pick.. NO NO NO! Who in their right mind would EVER do this? At least let Vspan try Pretty Ricky's new style to see if he can fit.

JL3.. he is my Least favorite Rockets this year. He's realllllyyy undersized and erratic for this team. Anything for him is an upgrade. Get this done Morey. I wish his contract was only for 1 year so we can drop him already.

I would only deal VSpan for a really good 2nd rounder at #34 otherwise I wouldn't give him up for those picks. Singleton for JL3 is fine. Cook for Head no way, even in the unlikely event of the 20th/26th swap.
Edit: Cook for Head straight up doesn't work on the ESPN Trade Machine.

first off i can't stand john lopez, what a douche, so i don't put much stock in this stuff.

the vspan trade is just dumb. don't do it. he's definitely someone i'd look to move for some value but i dont care that much about second-round picks. i'd shoot someone if he blew up on the freaking mavericks too. that's a risk you don't take when you're return is practically nothing.

jl3 for singleton is whatever. sure why not?

i don't like head for cook either. i think head has more value as potential filler in a trade then getting brian cook.

    I like all of those.

If V-Span is gonna leave, might as well get something for him.

I've always liked Cook as a complement to Yao as a range-shooting 4. He's a good percentage shooter too.

Don't know much about Singletary other than that he's athletic and a strong defender. Not much different than Snyder, IMO.

why would we trade V-Span or anyone on our roster for that matter to our division rivals? that makes no sense. if V-Span pans out we'll look like complete idiots especially if that happens to a division foe.

An on-form brian cook is a great player. 3 pt threat and he has some post moves!! And i don't like luther head's choking during playoffs either..his shot form is too much movement and bricking. I think this could happen..cook doesn't seek to like phil jackson's bench and phil doesn't seem to like his attitude either.
