Rather go for Marc Jackson. According to Realgm, Jackson is going to opt out due to playing time. 6'10 250, with a mid range jumper. Not bad
We should just follow the tactic that women have used effectively for years: Don't give up Head unless you can get something worthwhile in return.
No way dude marc jackson isnt 6'10 he's probally closer to 6'8 he's carlos boozer size. which is still undersized and fat. the warriors did us a favor by matching our offer 5 years ago.
that thread makes our "Ridiculous Rockets Trade Proposal" thread look sensible. someone mentions bonzi and suddenly he is an integral part of the deal...seriosuly head and bonzi for sasha and cook? we todd ed
Jackson is a scrub and his jumper is not even that good. He is really soft and shouldn't even be mentioned as a PF or C backup for this time unless it is 3rd string. That is his role in this league.
Exactly. Do you want an undersized shooting guard who can shoot the 3 but who is mediocre in other respects and thus best off the bench, or a power forward with legit power forward size who can shoot the 3 and who is mediocre in most respects and thus best off the bench? Cook for Head seems pretty fair to me--and it address a position of greater weakness after the recent trade, if we got anything else (swapping 1sts, extra 2nd), it is as really good deal as far as I am concerned.
Keep VSpan - he has potential. Send JL3. We need to keep Head until we have something of consequence for him. Probably a multi-player deal.
As well as another game where Luther came back on the Lakers basically single-handedly and embarrassed Kobe on more than one occasion. I was beginning to think Luther turned the corner. Then Tmac came back and Luther turned back into a jump shooter again. Maybe Adelman can instill confidence in Luther and show him tape of how he played last year w/o TMac and say you should be even better than that with Tmac on the floor.
kobe was out of the game for most of the run in the 4th...came back with 2 or 3 minutes left in the 4th. head was terrific in the last quarter. cook would be more valuable to this year's team.
Basically you would be ok with trading Head for Scott Padgett, because that is really what Cook is: an undersized, 1 trick pony, PF in name only. Head is actually one of the best 3pt shooters in the league, and although his game is one dimensional like Cook, I believe he has a lot more trade value. Save Head for a player that we can actually use and who will make an impact. If we go into next season with Cook and Hayes manning the 4 I wouldn't be surprised if we don't make the playoffs, much less get into Rd. 2.
This is not a debate guys. Head for Cook = nonononono VSpan for 2nd round pick to Mavs = nonononono The only trade that is ok is JLIII for Singleton because its just scrub for scrub, plus we have too many PG types as is on the roster.
agreed. They have too many pgs now and this gets them an extra big man, the rest dont make any sense.
The only trade i wouldn't mind seeing of these three is the Lucas for Singletary trade. Basically, this comes down to whether you'd rather have Vspan or Lucas.
VSPAN to Dallas could come back and bite us in the a**. Those guys, the Spurs and GState really know how to develop the European ballers. Could be a BIG mistake.
How come you guys love Matt Bullard and have no love for Brian Cook ? He could play a legit role, in the designated shooter hole. Much better than Luther Head. That swap is in our favor. We just need to pick up an bigger power forward garbage man in the offseason, too. Maybe Marc Jackson? That's completely realistic. Then we could fill that position by committee. You can't spend everywhere.
