Ken, Lanny, & Steve (Was that their names? The Buzz's Morning show a long time ago) were the only ones I ever liked in the morning.
I don't know how anyone can listen to those annoying morning radio shows. If there is a hell, it would be playing morning radio shows all day constantly at full blast.
Lex and Terry up here in Dallas on 102.1 The Edge would be playing in my personal hell, those guy are terrible...
The whole "morning zoo" genre is so 1989. It needs to just go away all together. It's all played out, cliched, and DULL. They're all the same in every market in every city. It's always 2 people (Walton and Johnson, Stevens and Pruiett, etc) and it's just a bunch of comedy rejects making outdated jokes and playing stupid sound effects.
The really bad part is that end up discussing stuff that everyone on this board posted / read about 3 days ago like it is the latest f*cking thing. Does anybody know if HD radio plays the morning zoo crap or just music? I know at work there are no commercials. Oh and btw... http://www.clearchannelmusic.com/hdradio/ Even though I think ClearChannel is the devil, I am pretty happy with the choices on here.
Man I really liked them. I bet Roula and Ryan will end up on 104. They have a much older target audience.
I'm suprised that W&J doesn't get much love around here. They take a little bit of getting used to, because most people are used to the usual morning radio crap, but I think they're the most intelligent morning radio show I've ever listened to...
Well it's about damn time. Those guys have sucked for so long, it's become the status quo for sucking. I remember Psycho Robbie came to visit my middle school (Sugar Land Middle School) and got a nice round of boos.
I've never heard them, but I used to hear commercials they did for some jewelry shop while I was listening to Phil. One of them was doing the voice of a gay guy and the other the voice of a redneck. Wow, that's really fresh and original...
I'd be down for that. I could actually listen to them w/o ripping my hair out or have flashes of driving off the bridge.
Well, it's like I said, they take some getting used to, and they're definitely not for everybody, but I really like them. Their show is real political/current events based with some odd news thrown in. Steve Johnson actually does three different voices, the two you mentioned and a black/urban that brings a racial POV to the subjects. The voices really aren't really comedic in nature, but they're used more to illustrate the different viewpoints. The callers even get into it by addressing the different personas, instead of the guy doing the personas (although I'm not really sure exactly how many of the callers know that it's one guy doing three voices). The first 30-35 minutes of the show, when they do an overview of the big news stories, is done without any of the voices.
That would be awesome...I'm still pissed that freakin Sam Malone replaced them There were the only decent radio morning show; now I have to listen to the Rod Ryan show cause there's nothing else better. I HATE SAME MALONE! Atom and Mario were just ok. Really though I just wish they'd play music in the mornings; maybe I just should cave and get sattelite. And what's the purpose of 104 trying to target an older audience...they'll just be another Mix.
Speakin of which, they brought up on the The Buzz this morning the story of that Portland guy whose suing MJ. I'm....ummm yeah, you're about a half a week too late on that.
