More likely: ESPN REPORTS: Just in! Houston Rockets who unexpectedly reached the Western Conference Championship Round, this morning received the news that the recovering Yao Ming was going to be able to play for his team in the championships.
Even better: "After sweeping through the regular season and on through the NBA Finals, the Rockets are now World Champions. Furthermore, Charles Barkely has strangely turned into an actual donkey, while many other former critics of the Rockets have also mysteriously disappeared/ last seen with crows stuffed in their mouths. Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith are also now a happily married couple and is now living a quiet life together in an undisclosed location"

The way Landry sees it Dr. Andrews gave him some good news. "He said there is no torn ligament and that is all I needed to hear," Landry said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports. "I didn't need to see or hear anything else." Landry said he had no interest in listening to the doctors talk about his injury or look at the pictures of his knee. Of Monday's news Landry said: "It could have been worse and it could have been better." "I feel like I could play right now but I'm not a doctor and I could make it worse and I don't want to do anything to hurt my future or hurt the Houston Rockets." Landry has become a significant weapon in the Rockets arsenal in just his first year in the league. He is averaging 8.5 points and 5 rebounds a game coming off the bench and his production has increased since Yao Ming suffered a season-ending injury six games ago. "Carl will continue treatments and be closely monitored by the team's doctors and when they feel it is safe for him to play, he will play," said Keith Jones, Rockets Senior V.P./Basketball Operations and trainer. Landry did not play in the Rockets win Saturday over the New Orleans Hornets and will not play Monday night against the New Jersey Nets. The Rockets have yet to announce how long Landry will be out.
PRETTY GOOD NEWS WHEN PUT IN CONTEXT! Although much was left unsaid..I have a feeling he will be out longer than 1 more game...probably AT LEAST 3 - 5.The fact they said he could make it worse sounds ominous, but the big thing is that there is no tear."could be worse, could be better"...hmmmm...I was so worried he would have to have an arthroscope done.If I'm not missing my mark,I'll bet the weakened condition at the moment would make it much easier for him to actually tear it..esp with the previous surgery/injury.ergo..Sit until you are well Carl Landry. We'll need you to win the title this year and beyond. The Rockets are really playing cloak and dagger on this thing.
Is it the same knee he injured before or the other knee? Does not sound very optimistic from what Landry said
basically means he will rest till we feel we need him to contribute to keep the winning streak alive.
