I agree that he should be mentioning ML simply for trade value and such. But in reality, the Texans aren't going to consider him. If they were to take a QB, it's not because David Carr sucks - they've already established they still believe in David Carr. So Carr to ML is a lateral move. ML could be better or worse, really - same style of player, though. If they take a QB, it's because they believe in the intangibles and that he can change the way they play the game. (If they don't believe Vince brings that ability, they shouldn't draft him.) In other words, if they draft a QB, it would be because of the upside potential - and that is a whole lot higher with Vince than ML (Vince also has higher downside potential).
The Saints still have to trade up to #1 if they want to guarantee themselves Leinart. The Texans won't be taking him, but I have a feeling alor of people will be calling and try to get ahead of NO to take him.
I hear you, though I don't know about ML having higher upside than VY. ML could be a Peyton like guy. Slow as crap but can make aswesome reads and accurate passers. And VY could be a McNabb type guy, dual threat with even better running ability and leadership ability. I think if they really had given up on Carr, they'd analyze both VY and ML thoroughly and have quite a difficult decision on their hands.
If the interview is as important as Kubiak is implying then we will probably trade down and get Mario Williams. This kid has the total package. I think MW will be the second non QB picked after Bush.
You are so biased its not even funny. Give me a break. I can't even look at these threads anymore. How can you say that bush and leinart have something to prove. How can you say there is no question VY was the better player. Vince Young did not torch ohio state either, i know you wrote that somewhere. He made many mistakes, but made the play at the end to win the game. But by no means did he "torch" them.
