I'm a big fan of David Thorpe's, and I trust him when he says Martin looks better than ever.

Still, reading those quotes, I can't help but get flashbacks to a year ago when Tim Grover was saying similar things about McGrady.

 

This article tortures me. Makes me feel like the season is still incredibly far away. Oh how I miss my Houston Rockets .

 

Are you seriously taking shots at Battier for not practicing hard enough? Get real. Battier's main issue at this point is durability. I think resting during the summer is warranted in Battier's case. He needs to work on shooting and staying healthy, not putting stress on his body.

 

A 31 year old role player thats been on the decline for the past 3 years needs skip offseason training because of health issues. Yao didnt do it, tmac didnt do it,Kobe didnt do it but battier has the right to do so

I like how he's talking an aggressive game but tempers that by saying he only need 12-13 shots to be dominant. Basically trying to fit in as an integral piece of the puzzle and not just one of the cogs. I believe he has the talent to do it, so I hope he lives up to all this hype.

I'm also hoping for a revival of his defensive prowess, but we can't get everything, can we?

Every player's trainer is optimistic going into the season. That said, it's nicer to hear this than to hear that Kmart12 was arrested for drunk driving or beating up his wife.

hmmmm this sounds a little mcgradyesk... maybe im just paranoid from all the stuff with mcgrady but he was talking about himself a lot and just putting himself and yao in the picture there, something mcgrady did. He did say a few positive things but i am a little paranoid bc of mcgrady, i hope he has a good attitude and does not make it about himself like mcgrady did.
