Artest has been letting guys like Thornton light him up. Ok, Thornton is an up and comer, but I'd wager that it'd be reasonable to argue that a former DPOY should do a better job on him. Oh yeah he's injured! Well so was T-Mac. You guys can't have your cake and eat it too

Are you a doctor? Can you feel the pain in his knee? You, the rest of this forum, and the rest of the world really have no idea what he feels, except for him. I was injured and the doctors told me to just go easy on it. I really thought I needed to take a couple months off, but they said Id be fine cutting my practices in half. Turns out they were wrong, I tore my shoulder. He knows what is wrong with his body more than any doctor. Resting may help him physically, as well as mentally. Give the guy a break, cheer for the rest of the team and wait for his return. Any competitor would rather be in the game, than watching on the side, he is no exception.

When people call others haters, they are conceding their argument, so thanks !

    ;)

As for the rest, I agree rehab is great, sounds like he will be doing that and it can only help.

But honestly, no amount of rehab can replace playing in a game, jumping, and twisting and turning in game conditions.

So to me, playing in the games is part of rehab......

I am hopeful that he comes back strong in 3 weeks-ish time....but I believe that the issue will persist until he strengthens the knee and most of that will only come by playing...so to me, he is just delaying getting better by 3 weeks....

But, I am just a hater, right?

    LOL...hater...come on.....!!!!!

I agree with Morey, Tmac was helping the team, just having him as a threat on offense was opening it up for others....and his 40% 3pt shooting was REALLY helping......oh well...

Here is Richard Justice just yesterday

So, which Richard Justice article appeals to you?

    ;)

Not buying it, DD. So you think it's fine if he's out there playing through severe pain, limping all over the court, having no explosiveness and generally hurting his team at both ends of the court while he's on the floor?

No. YOU, DD, were one of the biggest culprits criticizing T-Mac before he decided to shut it down. You and your friends said he was over the hill, a sissy for limping and wincing all over the court, stagnating the offense, etc. etc. The truth is so far this year, Tracy McGrady is your anointed scapegoat, and unless he somehow manages to get a blood injection from Claire the cheerleader and suddenly string together 7 straight 30 point games, he will continue to be your anointed scapegoat for the foreseeable future. Only McGrady knows how his body feels, and you have no right or ability to tell him whether he is able to play through the pain or not.

Yes, I am fine with him out there, I want him to play through it...and on nights he is limping around, limit his playing time.

On nights like in Phoenix, where he is playing well...play him.....

But having him on the floor even limping around helps the entire team, and if that is a part of getting him healthy as the doctors have said...then YES...I would like to see him on the floor.

That being said, he doesn't believe that.....Morey even told him that...but whatever, Tmac is embarrassed that he can't do what he normally does...and I get that....but to me..that is irrelevent, the team is more important and as long as he is helping the team and strengthening his knee...I believe he should play.

Unforturnatly, he doesn't answer to me.

    :D

    From the Justice article above....

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Never mind that the Rockets and McGrady apparently heard two different stories from Dr. James Andrews after Monday's exam. The Rockets thought McGrady would miss a week, then work himself back into the lineup. McGrady says he'll be off for three weeks.

If McGrady is going to take three weeks off, let's hope he's serious about his rehab work. That hasn't always been the case.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

Does that make me a hater now when I point out that Tmac is basically lying?

Replace the name "T-Mac" with the name "Stevie Franchise" and we see that this board has about 100 similar threads.

This was a great article I love it. It was nice to read an article that wasn't bashing Tracy.

    DaDakota,

I respect you so much, but maybe you have to take it EASY... I mean sometimes you just go crazy with your posts. I understand it is frustrating, because it is, but reallt it is better to sit now, than to wait 2 months and that do that. What if he had continued playing and the knee wouldn't have gotten any better? It would be a DISSAPOINTMENT. So right now, when the schedule looks pretty easy he can easily sit out. I quess you are not a doctor...?

It is normal that Tracy is frustrated. Everybody would be frustrated. The worst thing is that he really isn't injured. His knee is just not at full strength. I really don't wanna see him taking only perimeter jumpers, without any kind of drives to the rim. It is just not who Tracy really is.

I guarantee you that he wants to play so bad. He wants to be out there with the team, but on the other hand he wants to be himself, a plazer who can score 25 against anybody in this leauge.

So I am even happy that he decided to sit out. And what's more, I guarantee you that he will work hard to be back at full strength

You're missing the point. He's limping around because he's in too much pain. Apparently more pain than he can tolerate.

He played well in PHX because he got an injection (almost certainly an injection of short-acting anesthetic + steroid), and was mostly pain-free that game.

Bottom line, he CAN'T play through it right now. If that makes him a wuss, so be it. He tried playing through it, but we all saw that he seemed to play worse and worse as the games added up.

If anyone is wondering why he can have only 4 injections, steroids are great anti-inflammatories but they also inhibit healing and can mask developing structural problems. So if you get too many injections you might not have much pain, but then suddenly your knee is totally shot because you couldn't feel anything.

T-mac played with a serious back problem for most of his career and people think he is soft. Funny

RJ apparently did some more research (after his initial blog posting) and did a 180 in his latest print article...

Mac also said that he's busted his butt to come back to help the team with the early season schedule, who really knows.

I hope he gets well and comes back strong in January.

I usually never agree with RJ, but I have to admit that I'm with him on this one.

    DD=scrub :D

Anyway, DD do you find it curious/annoying that morey talks more about the players than the coach? I mean how many gms talk about injuries and other stuff dealing with players than morey.

I thinke Tmac_1 is Tmac himself. Dude fights for Tmac like Tmac is paying his bills or dating him.

However, if Justice cuts for Tmac than we have to give Tmac the benefit of the doubt. Justice normally gives the players the blues.

Maybe we should stop focusing on Justice's editorial comments, and discuss Morey's quotes in this Justice article.

At least Justice brought us some fresh quotes, something Blinebury rarely does.

I don't know about you people but I'm starting to see the trend that Tmac miraculously heal from injury when Yao is injured and start playing again when Yao is out.
