I've got a buddy who does DWI defense, and after the stories he's told me, I'd never assume somebody who got charged for DWI is necessarily guilty. Innocent until proven guilty, especially when it comes to DWI.[/QUOTE] Exactly, thats why cops are haters and full of ****.
The alternative to this rush to judgment is to let the process play itself out, get the evidence out in the open and then make up our minds. Last summer Rafer was a convicted throat slasher, remember. Justice's shtick lately is moral outrage. I have never read Richard Justice condemning the sins of journalism, but he's the first to get out the pitchforks and torches at the first hint of an athlete, or owner screwing up. People should be held accountable for their actions, but the outrage over this kind of stuff is instant and seems disproportionate. The media has a lot to do with that. Meanwhile, the US Constitution is being ripped into little pieces and nobody is saying a thing...
Sorry guys, he's guilty. I saw the test; they asked him to make a layup and he did. A sober Rafer wouldn't have made that shot.
I totally agree with Justice. I'm glad someone finally said it. The Rockets need to face this down with Alston. They need to bring in the big man himself. Les needs to sit down with Alston. "Rafer, we've had enough! You're out of line, totally out of control. What kind of man are you? You have to start hitting your shots! 39% from the floor? 35% from three? That's just irresponsible. Irresponsible, you hear!" It's true. I think Alston needs to go to rehab. Do they have a Betty Ford for awful shooters? Probably some place in Serbia. Those guys can shoot.
