On Tuesday, Josh Smith spent some time with former Rocket Hakeem Olajuwon working on post moves.

It wasn’t the first time the two worked together.

Smith said several years ago, he worked with Olajuwon in Sugar Land, but kept it under wraps.

“I have worked with him in the past,” Smith said. “ I really just don’t broadcast everything I do in the offseason so people didn’t notice, but I was one of the first one to be able to work with him and pick his brain on low post scoring.”

Smith said he enjoyed having Olajuwon around now to work with.

Hakeem probably made Josh sign a confidentiality agreement before agreeing to work with Josh.

I think Smith is a better finisher in the low post than Dwight.

Too bad he won't be around long enough for those dividends to pay off. Can't imagine he'll re-sign for the minimum.

Yes, and DMo is a better finisher in the low post than Hakeem.

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL............

Hakeem isn't going to help Josh stop taking boneheaded shots and turning the ball over.

Much rather see Smith and DMO with Dream. Dwight is a lost cause in the post..

Speaking of Josh Smith's shot selection. It is changing.

Now thats what I like to see! Next phase, JSmith shoots only within a foot of the basket.

Great news! I'll wager that Hakeem isn't telling Josh to hoist threes. It can't hurt a bit to have Smith working out with Dream. Quite the opposite.

At this point Hakeem should just suit up and play himself.

Looks close to the same to me just more shots to compare with Detroit, would be interesting to see percentages of 3s, midrange anad paint ops to really see.

Looks he's almost equaled his 3pt makes with Detroit, but he has some catching up to do for the misses.

Looking at Smith's stats... wow, he needs to pick it up or his defense won't be worth it. Why is this guy taking 2 3pters a game in 28 minutes? How is he turning the ball over 2.8 times in that amount of time?

Not to mention he's hitting 43% of his shots, 20% from 3pt land, and 42% of his FT's. Rebounding below average at 5 rebounds in 23 minutes.

This is while going up against second units. Incredible. I know it's tough joining a new team mid season but come on. This is absurd. For that kind of offensive production, you'd have to be the best damn defender in the league to barely end up a net positive.

The sad thing is can really catapult this team to contender status but it would require a major shift in a pattern that has plagued him for years. To think people wanted to trade for him at the price of his Pistons salary lol.
