Some day, CD is going to surprise me by signing someone beside a scrub, unproven rookie or nbdl'er. Mike James was worth all of these guys combined. I hope CD has something better up his sleeve because I am getting tired of the endless procession of guys like Jacobson, Frahm, Brunson, Baxter, Snyder and V-Span.

NEVER trust a player that played for Phoenix under that system, with Steve Nash at the helm...things are not what they seem.

The dude is young, has good size, comes from a solid developmental background, is a strong character guy, plays his ass off, has NBA experience, and strokes the 3 at just under 40 percent for his career.

Honestly...why would anyone complain about signing this guy if we can get him for cheap?!

probably because the last 2 or 3 guys we've picked up are cheap too
and maybe because no other team wanted him with the exception of denver...but just recently too

Apparently Jacobsen plays his heart out. He got the Dan Majerle Hustle Award when he was in Phoenix. He may not be the greatest athlete, but I could see him as a Ryan Bowen sharpshooter at the 2.

Casey played half a season with steve nash he was shipped for JJ so most of his avgs are not the result of Nash. He couldnt get off the bench due to D'antoni's insistance on playing JJ and Q all the time. It doesnt mean he is a all-world player but given the right situation he can do real well for himself.

And he is NOT a poor man's Kapono. I saw Kapono play a lot when I was at ucla and Casey is a better shooter and much more offensively skilled. Kapono was basically a spot up shooter. Also Kapono looked positively lost at times on both sides of the ball not a very high bball IQ. I remember going to the Artesia/Glendora games back in high school when Kapono and Casey matchuped it was a great scoring shoot-out.

Its a low-risk medium reward experiment for the rockets. Casey isnt going to avg 15ppg but he can come in off the bench and drop in a few 3s a game. Like i said in my earlier post listed my personal reviews of pros/cons of casey's game, casey can be our Jon Barry. Maybe not as flashy as jon with his passes and showmanship but larger than jon and just as good if not better shooter

we dont need players who score 10-15 a bunch of players. we need roleplayers to chip in those 6-8 pts here and there. as long as they can hit the wide open shot i dont care who we sign

I'll take cheap smart team players over pricey playground BS anyday.

We got our money players give them some guys who can hit a wide open shot and try to play defense and that's all we need.

Any of you guys going to post pictures of your women?

If Houston is going to take a chance on a 1 dimensional player like Jacobsen, then why not Badiane?

They would both be cheap and require small mins until they develop.

Rockets need a shot blocking defensive minded PF in a baaaad way.

if he's good for a couple of 3's off the bench then im kool with it. not like with overpayed or anything. he plays hard all the time. i think he'll end up being a JVG favourite

If no more trade, this means Sura is out. But the piling of guards is a signal of trade imho.

C'mon, the guy is a hard working player, a gymrat, a deadeye shooter, he puts in 110% every single night, a class-act person, a solid roleplayer, he can match-up well size-wise, has the ability to light up the scoreboard, plays above the rim, can move well without the ball, has the potential to dominate and take over, can find the open man, has the ability to stop dribble penetration, is a lock-down defender, can pick someone's pocket, can score a lot of points in transition, can get red hot and can even get on fire, has the ability to shoot lights out, can make a living behind the 3 point arc, can be automatic, can fill it up, is money behind the free throw line, is a pure shooter, has a hot hand, is perfect from the charity stripe, can really dish the rock, can be a spark off the bench, can provide instant offense, can take it to the hole, can spot up for the open J, can make smart fouls, is a coachable player, is a dependable hardworker and most of all is a cerebral player.
