Lets take Blinebury and Steven A Smith and blow them both up.

Well this just about sums it all up...

The reason coaches feel they need to be in control is that the general feeling is that the majority of players do not know how to be smart on the floor (ala Steve Francis).

The high flying, rim rattling dunks are fun to watch but the statistics don't lie and it is true that the calliber of players and the overall foundation of fundamentals has eroded a bit.

Why so much hate for the WNBA? They're legitimate athletes, even if most of them can't dunk, and WNBA games can be just as exciting as NBA games. Afterall the Houston Comets have one two more titles than the Rox have.

Anyway I would rather look at Sue Bird, Katie Smith and Lisa Leslie than Ben Wallace, Allen Iverson or Dirk Nowitzki.

    No doubt.

Purists who decry the current state of the NBA only need to check out a WNBA game. On pure basketball skill alone, there are handfuls of WNBA players who would make NBA stars look absolutely silly. Some of the best pure basketball in the world is played in the NBA's offseason.

But where are the fans? We're watching Chris Andersen miss 45 dunks. Fans want excitement, and most casual fans couldn't care less about the timing of a cross-the-lane bounce-pass on a backdoor cut through the weakside of an exposed 3-2 zone defense. They just like the dunk that follows. And there's nothing wrong with that.

The WNBA players just have less skill. Despite the slower play there are a whole bunch of turnovers and people who can't shoot. There is a reason why no one watches the WNBA. When I ever I catch a random games there are girls missing layups thats horrible.
