There have been several other successful programs identical to this one in other cities. Have you seen this video?? Meth head steals a car and goes bat-**** crazy (around the 2:00 mark it gets real interesting)... <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="430" height="370" wmode="transparent" data="http://www.buzzhumor.com/player/buzzflvplayer.swf?autostart=false&file=http://media.buzzhumor.com/17/meth_addict_steals_a_bait_carw22S3.flv"><param name="movie" value="http://www.buzzhumor.com/player/embedflvplayer.swf?autostart=false&file=http://media.buzzhumor.com/17/meth_addict_steals_a_bait_carw22S3.flv"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"><param name="quality" value="high"></object>
I think that would be the responsibility of the one who posted it. You can always just post the link. I'm in the enviable position of it not bothering my coworkers when the speakers start unexpectedly blaring. There was a time when I wasn't though, and I'm sure there are posters here in the same position.
I fixed the problem. It turns out there was more than one instance of autostart in the coding. Initially, I only changed the first one, but now they're both changed. It shouldn't auto start anymore. Your panties can be unwadded now.
far be it for me to defend ffb, but i think posting auto-playing videos/files here has been a big no-no for a while.
I agree, and like I explained - I edited the coding to autostart=false, which I thought would fix that, and it worked in my browser when I previewed my post... I just didn't realize there were two instances of autostart in the coding and everyone else still suffered through the autoplay. But I've fixed it. So we're discussing a moot point now.
Meggo, I’m not sure if you’re aware or not, but you really shouldn’t post auto play videos on CF.net.
Autoplay video is, as they say, verboten. And "entrapment" is a lame (and basically worthless) defense brought by every drug dealer and prostitute, none of whom know what the word really means.
I thought bait cars were wired so that they could be remotely turned off and locked, keeping assholes like this from hitting four cars in the process and still running off (before getting caught...eventually). Is that only done in areas that have more money or something?

I thought the same thing. I know I've seen them before like that on tv. The car has the power cut off and so they can't hurt other pedestrians. That truck video is nuts. Apparently the Canadians aren't doing it right.
