Thibodeau. And I am asking around on the board, which is why I'm asking you.

I'm asking for specific information that Thibodeau now works exclusively with yao and that Ewing has been relegated.

Sorry but an allusion to unknown, unspecified radio interviews (yes, I'm sure Thibodeau went on 610, under the control freak regime of JVG, and said "yeah - Jeff handed me the keys to Yao and fired Ewing's ass!") and the inferences that you drew from them, doesn't do it for me.

It seems like you're inferring a lot from a little - in other words random CF.net speculation.

When I first read this article, I went back and forth on whether I should post, "That gave me goosebumps" or "That gave me wood." And then I read that almost every other poster had the exact same reaction!

Whether it happens or not (probably not), this really is a wet dream.

After a long training session, they could cap the day off with a sprint on Galveston beach:

Like I said earlier. It's more about Hakeem's schedule than Yao's. Yao's in Houston 9-10 months a year. If Dream didn't happen to come into town the two months that Yao is out of the country, they might be able to get some work in.

Please let Ewing go and bring Hakeem here to teach Yao, but this is not going to happen soon. Who knows why?

Dream is not begging for an opportunity to teach Yao, nor is he looking for a coaching job. He is just a NBA legend who has some priceless experience which can make Yao a much better player.

If someone has to change one's schedule just to make that wonderful thing happen, it is Yao, not dream.

I never asked my professor to come to school based on my schedule so he could teach me. I thought it is a simple thing that everyone understands.

It's good to read about Hakeem, who IIRC has been silent on the topic of working with Yao for the past few years, wanting to work with Yao. I'm guessing/hoping Yao's work in the second half of last season apparently impressed the Dream enough for him to make the offer. Yao should send a personal invitation, all expenses paid, for Hakeem and family to visit him in China, especially if Hakeem has never been. This would get around the scheduling problem. I would totally pay money to see one of Yao/Hakeem's sessions.

Man, so much homoerotic overtones in this thread.... :D

Let me tell you, I'm not criticizing Dream when I say this. It's not his obligation to make time to work with Yao. But at the same time, people who bash Yao or China for not bending over backwards to accomadate Hakeem's schedule, are way off base.

Why lament that Yao's off in China, when that's his homeland? He has the right to spend his offseason where he wants to. He's given the city of Houston an enormous part of his life, so I think it's way too much to ask for him to give even more of his time.

Like I said, I don't blame Dream for when and where he chooses to spend his time. But on a practical basis, there's only so much more time that Yao can spend in Houston (it's up to 70-80% of the year already). If this scenario of Dream training Yao is going to happen, it'll probably have to be accomodated from Hakeem's side of the schedule. If it doesn't happen, then fine, it's nobody's fault. It's just something that didn't work out.

I hope somebody sends this article and comments by the Dream to Yao. Maybe my dream of the Dream being the coach of the Rockets might come true. :)

The rockets are idiots if they don't contact Hakeem and some how make him a part of the Rockets and the tutoring of Yao....Hakeem put it out there for the Rockets to read..he said it would be his honor to pass on his knowledge to big men..i.e Yao....it is the rockets responsibilty to contact him or his people and work somethign out....Hakeem is not going to go to the Rockets or yao and beg them...The ball is in the organizaton and Yao's court (no pun intended)....

Otis can show juwan what a PF is suppose to do and
maybe juwan could teach Otis how to steal $110+ million from the NBA!
