Again, If Morey aquires Gasol its most likely going to have a domino affect on a seperate deal that comes after the trade just like last year's Gasol deal did. This trade would be viewed in the same calliber as the 07 Celtics big 3 aquisition Summer was viewed. None of those three players could win a title on a team that was build soley around each of them, but you put three or so of those players in a system and build that complements each other and you could have something. Morey was a big part of putting that team together years ago, and I think this is the motive with the Gasol trade. To be honest, we really have no idea whether or not he would still pull the trigor on a deal now knowing that their wasnt a secondary move in place following that deal. Its just a guessing game of what their plan is. If there is a plan in place following a Gasol type of deal this Summer, the Rockets should just go for it. They have nothing to loose at this point. Im not going to argue with you that Gasol alone, is or is not a cornerstone player to build around. But just keep in mind the Celtics model as what we could expect if a deal comes to fruition and we might be on to something very interesting next season.

I really think the reason Bynum doesn't give his full effort at times is because he is young and still immature. He is just now coming into his own as a player, I don't think he cares about winning yet. He doesn't have that desperate desire to win yet because he is still coming into his own as an individual . I think Bynum would rather play in a worse team where he can become a superstar instead of worrying about winning championships right now. He will get to the point where he WANTS and desires desperately to win..but he's not there yet.
And? Any team with Gasol as their leader is going nowhere, and any team that isn't a major market team with a license to overspend will find it hard to get the help he needs to win when his contract is near $20M.
Bynum has already won championships. But look at things from his point of view. He has the capacity to be a star. He does the dirty work and deserves more touches, but he doesn't get them. Wouldn't that annoy you, too?
Yup it would. I don't blame him, he's very young and wants to develop his individual game. It just depends on the player, some players won't care..some would. Rondo completely developed under the big 3 in Boston and now is the leader ofthe team. In a few years the same would happen with Bynum..which is why he should still give his 100% to the franchise. I think what I wrote is pretty self explanatory. -Kobe is a player you build a team around -Bynum is a player you build a team around -Gasol is a piece, but not the right fit for the Lakers The Lakers have a bunch of players that just dont fit well together. That is why Gasol looks way worse then he really is. They have an elite jump shooter in Kobe whose playing in a defensive minded big man system, and this has a negative affect on the piece that their system is supposed to be working through in Bynum. You have poor ball movement and offensive efficiency because these guys both need to have an offensive system that runs through them, and they dont have that. So it always looks like they are trading turns instead of truely working the ball around, and creating a quality offensive possesion. Their lack of offensive efficiency creates poor defense in return. Its like trying to fit a square peg into a round whole. Thats why the Phil Jackson triangle was so affective because of the balance it created in their offense. -With the 07 Celtics merger, those three players were combined as pieces to the make up a sum of the whole, but together they had a unique set of players that were able to compete for a title. The Celtics have or had a system that revolved around the Pick and Roll/Pick and Pop that really caused matchup nightmares and was incredibly efficient on offense that led to them being able to play downtempo so they could setup shop on defense. To sum up that team, those 3 are exceptional "system" players who fit together perfectly. With Gasol, Im saying that he's a system guy that could fit in perfectly with that style of play. He's not a dominant player because he doesn't have to be. He just needs to be surrounded by the right players, and in the right system. In Houston i believe he would be surrounded by the right "system" players, and Morey could finally have a player to build a system around that works. If you still think Im ridiculous then so be it. Actually, not that hard. They'll have more than $6.4 million in cap room even with the cap holds on Lee and Dragic. They can have $11.9 million in cap space just renouncing Lee's rights . They can have more than the 30% max cap room by trading away or even amnestying Kevin Martin (whose contract will be expiring). In the 2013 offseason, they can still have plenty of flexibility as long as they don't grossly overpay an FA like Dragic or Lee. Lets say you trade Lowry+Scola+Patterson for Gasol, this is what the Rockets salary situation would look like for the next few years. Agree on the parts about Bynum. But Rondo is not a complete player (no reliable jumper), and he's definitely not the leader of the Celtics. The Boston pecking order is Pierce, Garnett, then Rondo.
Rondo runs the whole team. Garnett has said it himself, "Rondo is the leader of this team" I'm not just saying that, Garnett said it himself. I don't think he means that Rondo is the emotional and motivational leader...but on the floor, Rondo is the guy. He runs the Celtics.
Going 1-10 doesn't really have anything to do with a lack of respect I'm also sure Bynum and Gasol both know that they would not have rings if they didn't have Kobe.
