Blinebury has never been a writer I've enjoyed, but it strikes me that he's really crossing a line with his blog. Openly mocking readers and fans with his blog recap - mimicing the bipolar mood swings of fans based on Rocket wins and losses. I find it classless, petty, and overall unprofessional. I called him out via a comment on his first blog post and he facetiously blew it off (as he's doing with most comments), but now I'm thinking that an email to the editors is more in order.

If Fran Blinebury can't handle or can't insulate himself from the peanut gallery and do his job, he needs to leave. If Matt Jackson started an on air rant about how idiotic the callers are on 610, he wouldn't be on air for too long.

Why are you blaming TMac?

Don't you know that, on "the internets", Rockets losses are always Rafer Alston's fault and Jeff Van Gundy's fault?

The only two reasons for Rockets losses are 1)Rafer sucks and 2)JVG sucks for playig Rafer instead of Spanoulis.

If you disagree with these observations and make fun of people who make them, you run of risk of getting suddenly and permanently banished from Rockets fan sites.

This proves that Blinebury reads the BBS.

 

The guy is an idiot. I like Feigen, but Blinebury's crap is unbearable.

 

He is just doing what alot of the poster here on clutchfans are doing. The message behind it is that the rockets are ok and yall just need to support the rockets. Anyway its time to quit that crap and write a good piece, Real fans and the fake ones ( the ones with a 1000 different opinions ) will always be separated when it goes bad.

 

Did Van Gundier really get banned from this site? That seems a little harsh. I know he posted a lot of sarcastic threads, but all in all he was one of the better and most rational posters here.

Blinebury probably HATES blogging but the Chron editors are forcing the task onto him. I work for a newspaper. A lot of "old school" newsrooms dont like the idea of blogging on the web. They like writing their little articles and then hiding.

It has to be that, otherwise why criticize the audience that one is writing to!?!?
That's like going to a restaurant and the waiters give you poor service and call you names.

I suppose Fran could be being an ass because he knows the internet crowd will just flame back and in the end Chron will get pageviews / ad impressions. Maybe that's giving him too much credit.

Lol. Van Gundier playing the martyr card. He was a good poster, but I wasn't wild about some of his attention-whoring sarcastic bait threads. Especially on days when the bbs was going wild over a bad loss or something. That just adds more fuel to the fire, and increases the noise ratio around here, when it's already bad.

when did van gundier get banned? i kinda liked some of his posts. didnt really notice his sarcastic threads, haha! probably because i was too pissed off after losses that i wouldnt read all the "opinions" of some of the more cynical posters.

Rational? Not really. He definitely had good posts sometimes but other times he was a froot loop. I believe it was he who ripped everyone for not believing Sura would make it back. It was pretty loopy stuff and he got rather animated. He had some other moments when the word "bizarre" would apply. I'm sorry he got banned and have no idea what happened.
