I disagree. I was paying around 210 a month for Xfinity Internet/Cable with HBO and DVR in two rooms. I cut cable, did Direct Tv NOW (got a free Apple 4k Tv for signing up) for which I pay roughly 48 dollars for my channels with HBO, 20 hours of DVR. My internet speed remained the same through Xfinity and pay 85 for that now. That's around 75 a month in my pocket. Use the iPad with r/nbastream for rockets with airplay. Have not had one issue. In fact, I enjoy the apple tv interface so much more so then Xfinity it would be a very hard sell for me to go back to having a cable box. I have also always maintained my Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Spotify even when I was paying 210 for Xfinity. These are just fixed expenses to me now, like gas, water, and mortgage. If the argument is that "cut cable, get streaming cable but no other services" I suppose. But in my case I am saving 75 a month.
Do y'all think there's any hope they'll add more streaming providers? I'm sure there's an exclusivity stipulation in the deal between AT&T and Fubo for some period. I'm cutting Directv this week and the timing with Opening Day isn't the greatest. I'll figure that part out but Fubo just doesn't do it for us. If it were just me, that would be fine. But the wife and kids have other demands than just sports (leaning towards Hulu live).
Think I'm going to give this a shot. Has anyone here been using it? Any reviews? I know it's $65/month now but it's still the cheapest Rockets option for watching the game on my TV and having DVR.
I'm so glad I hopped on the directv/att $25 off forever deal when it was available. I had cut the cord for years but my current cable+internet bill is cheaper now (~$100 for both) than it was when I tried these streaming services (and they were cheaper then). I do think most people should double check their costs after bundling to see if these streaming cable services are still cheaper. I think in most instances it will be close (if you're willing to complain about your bill every 6 months). The only real way to be significantly cheaper is to not pay for cable at all and supplement with r/nbastreans or hehestreams, if you need your nba fix.
I've actually been on Fubo for since June 2019. Love it. Get all the channels I want PLUS all of the soccer I could every watch...including ATT Sports. I pay $58/month. Internet bill is $75 for 400 from Xfinity. Still way cheaper than I was paying for the crappy service and crappy product of Directv. I'll never go back to AT&T.
I was a little off. Total I pay is $61.99/mo. $59.99 for the service and $2 for family share. Maybe I was grandfathered in to this price.
Yeah I'm in the Houston area. I have ATT 1 gbps internet, $50/mo. So I might call up ATT and see if I can use "ATT TV" which sounds like a streaming cable service. Unfortunately, all their advertised packages are the "$X/mo for first 12 months of a 24 month agreement" and I just refuse to do those. Give me a fixed rate with no contract or give me death (or just give me a 12 month contract).
