Great post! I agree. But in Steve's defense, Baron's team is built around his skills. I can't say that is the case for Steve anymore. That is a big reason why Steve needs to be traded!

    This prediction was wrong.

Another overreaction to some quotes in the newspaper.
Of course tonight despite this overreaction to a quote which was twisted to fit some peoples negative image, nothing like that happened tonight.
Of course in the game Steve wasn't caught up in a personal grudge match and didn't try to outshine everyone on the Jazz. He did play hard defense in an effort not to be shown up again.

So tonight Steve was not at his most selfish. I think you are confusing Steve's game with Marbury's. It's Marbury who gets caught up in the personal battles and his team suffers because of it.

Hopefully in the future people won't try and twist a guys quotes around to try and predict all sorts of behavior which obviously didn't happen.

FranchiseBlade, you display a distinct ignorance about what it means to be a Rocket fan. To be a Rocket fan, one must assign blame, repeatedly, over and over again, win or lose, 7 days a week. Then you dissect every teeny tiny gesture or statement made by the object of your blame and then extrapolate it into an event of geopolitical significance, especially should the proper attitude of contrition not be shown. Then you chant "no excuses!!!!" and feel very satisfied with your assessment, while apologists like you who dare speak up for Rockets on a Rockets fans message board delude yourselves into complacency and are part of the problem, as you are clearly not the solution.

That's the kind of stuff that sports is all about. Go Rockets!!!

Sam, I see what you are saying. I tried overreacting and passing blame and having a knee jerk reaction to every play of a game before and I just got to tired. In one half I swore that the Rockets would be dead last in the midwest, and wanted to trade everyone except for Alton Ford. In that same half I believed that we for sure were the surprise darkhorse and that we would definitely win a championship this year. Of course when that changed the very next play I knew that everyone on the team was stupid and I didn't want to hear any excuses, and were wondering which player(who would surely be a bust) our front office would draft next year.

Then at halftime when I saw an interview with a Rockets player and coach, I was so angered that I sent Carrol Dawson a letter asking him to trade Maurice Taylor, Fire JVG, and while he was at it, he should go ahead resign, and that no reply was needed because I was sick and tired of excuses.

We won that game by 32, and boy did I think our team stunk.

:D LOL, I remember that game. That was the time I had "Houston Rockets 2004 NBA Champs!!!! SF#3 is da BOMB!!!" tatooed onto my johnson when Steve took a charge in the 1st and then had to castrate myself after Steve dribbled the ball off his foot in the 2nd period. But I couldn't find a urologist with an open office so I instead found a tatoo artist and had him change it to "Alvin Williams RoX!!!" That hurt like hell! Thank god we won......

    ...that was one sucky preseason...
