Wow... talk about fishing for a story.

I can't believe this thread got so many replies... I guess this is what passes as basketball news at this time of the year.

Hey IC2000 what are your predictions on who's gonna start? Any interesting tidbits from practice we haven't heard about?

I keep reading, in reference to Francis, "A leopard can't change his spots." Thats true except for the Alston Leopard right? Because his performance last year is not exactly shocking. Thats how he's been playing for his ENTIRE career. But here comes TWO good preseason games and all of a sudden he is a different player? I find it funny that it only takes two exhibition games to fully evaluate the players and what the rotation will be.

News flash, this is the FIRST team Steve's been on that is really good. I think he will surprise a lot of doubters this year.

Agreed. It was always going to be an adjustment for Stevie to get used to the idea that even though he's back in Houston, he's no longer a star or on the same level as Yao and T-Mac.

I'm glad to hear Adleman's cracking down on him though. I think he'll eventually adjust to his role, just like he did under JVG.

Even though he's half joking, I'm sure there's still probably a bit of jealousy and tension with T-Mac, but I doubt it's anything too serious.

Look noob, he hasn't played a regular season minute yet. He's already complaining in practice. I'm gonna look at the glass half empty until I see him know his role on this team and shut the hell up.

I think it's the Steve Francis in me when I'm complaining to officials.

I WANT THE DAMN BALL! LET ME DRIBBLE OUT THE 24-SECOND CLOCK AND LAUNCH A 35 FOOTER!

    Yep, I'm in midseason form.

    Sincerely,
    Steve Francis

I heard a clip from James on 610 this afternoon talking about how intense today's practice was. He said that guys were really going at each other, getting in player's faces...

I thought that was a little unusual, but the SF3 "T" thing I just thought was funny.

Listen to Francis talk. He thinks he is on McGrady's level.

He is delusional and I expect he won't settle into any role other than starting and getting 30+ minutes a game without complaining. Now, can Adleman and Yao keep him quiet and focused enough to contribute to this team in a way that benefits the TEAM the most? That remains to be seen.

If this isn't an indication Francis will be one of the leaders in technical fouls this season then i don't know what is.

I hope no one gets injured. Our role players better have enough sense not to be too physical with Yao and T-Mac.

FYI, Bonzi got hurt (his head) in today's practice, according to sohu.com. Not severe though, he was back to practice after treatment.

Steve turned it over 18 times? So each team (40-18)/2 = 11 TO, no big deal.
