I don't know what happened in orlando with brian hill but steve didn't have problem getting howard the ball or playing off jameer nelson who was inserted into the starting line up. do you even remember the game they beat houston here. in ny it never had a chance with marbury who was the same player. steve never complained in ny, isiah didn't want that trade, brown wanted it and when brown left it was basically over for him there.

he was traded from here because the rockets got tracy mcgrady. that's a no brainer. he tried to work in jvg's system. the one problem he had with brian hill in orlando. but he ran the offense rudy wanted him to run, iso, he ran the offense jvg wanted him to run, unfortunately he never became a good shooter.

if you want to criticize steve, its for not improving his game, particuarly a spot up jump shot, which is all he needs to become a player that can really fit into this sytem. in preseason he wasn't having a problem getting the ball to yao and mcrgrady, he couldn't make the shots and more importantly didn't know when to make the shots.

While I certainly don't consider Steve a candidate to start for this team like some of you do, there is nothing in those comments that is really bad. Yeah you can choose to look at it in the most negative slant, and Steve very well have intended to take a slight jab in the sense that he feels he can't show he is ready if he isn't playing. But I don't think he is intentionally doing anything less than he is expected to. The question is whether he is going beyond what is "expected", which is what it will take to get playing time barring injuries to a rotation player. As long as Francis isn't making demands then there really isn't anything to worry about.

I believe by "running" he is referring to actually playing basketball, he just adds in the treadmill thing to state he's still trying to get in shape.

the franchise should start....hes an explosive player and we need one on the floor...he can also move the ball well....

mj is not good enough to start becuase he brings the type of energy you would want off the bench....come in and put some points while your starters rest...

skips not good enough to be our starting pg...he cant shoot ...he cant dribble under pressure...he cant defend..basically we need to trade his ass in my opinion and get us a back up center who is quick..so when we play teams like the jazz we can match up with them

I do not understand the hate Steve Francis is getting on the sidelines, and now from a quick talk with the coach. All I know is he wants to be out there on the court, hopefully when his time comes, he is ready. Please stop the hate towards him.

Francis is not what he used to be, but surely he is better than Rafer. The chance on Francis getting back to even resemble what he used to be, should be reason enough to throw him in the mix. Everyone was ready to throw Rafer out after last season and now he's the starter again. A combination of Francis and James at point guard is the way to go. Addleman is making a big mistake. :(

For what they said about Steve not getting in shape...then he NEEDS to get in shape INMEDIATELY if he wants to play. Stop the talking and just go out and do it! I see advantage in Steve playing no doubt...such as driving and attack hoop and he's such a great free throw shooter. As i said before, he just have to change the way he play and adapt to the Adelman's system and let the shot come to him.

All those shyt about being "FRANCHISE" and being pride don't matter anymore if he doesn't start working hard.

i think steve still has it he scored like 24,26,28, and 22 in his last 4 games as a Knick with those ppg so no doubt if he gets the playing time he will be efficient. he scored 20 points in the all-star game (last jordan appearance) when he was part of a all-star team and he didn't seem to keep the ball to himself with mcgrady on the court with him I know tracy will keep him in check.

OK so he can't be traded due to just being signed. Missed that one.

Looks like he can be traded on December 15th.

Let's hope the line of suitors is long and loaded with All-Star forwards to trade for Stevie.

We should be able to get Brand or JO or Artest by then.

    Bwah-hah-hah-hah-hah!

You read it here first. The guy has not changed and unless he does he will rot on the bench until either he is used for emergency duty or gets traded. The guy has not and will not put a team over the top UNLESS HE GET A SERIOUS ATTIUDE CHANGE.

Yeah, it wasn't like dallas or Miami weren't trying to get him. What a bunch of idiots those teams are!

Steve has his faults, but he hasn't done anything wrong here this second time around. If anything the guy brings a competiveness that this team has lacked. When he and Yao went to play the Lakers in the playoffs he gave them a hell of a run.

Look let him get back in shape and see what he does. Then if he fails you have some ground to stand on.

Well, if he's doing time on the tread mill, that's going to help. I don't see how it's an attitude problem. He said he hasn't run in nine days, well during the season you're not going to do a lot of running on the court, you are going through the game plan for the next team on the schedule.

I don't care if he starts or comes off the bench or what. I just can't see if you can give Luther spot minutes at the two for a few minutes that you can't give Steve a few to see how he progresses. I think we'll see Steve on some of these harsh back to back's that are coming up to keep everyone as fresh as possible.
