Call it what you want. Don't act like I didn't know the official statement before I wrote that.

Do you really believe they make that much money and these private investors didn't see a nickel of the tuition revenue? I'm sure they found a few outside investors who expect to see a return from the ticket sales, but nobody would just give away that opportunity.

    I call it bad accounting.

Well, each situation is a bit different, but we have to sit down with clients (when a large institution, you can imagine the numbers of people this might be - administration, athletic department, user groups, donors, boards), before anything can even really get rolling for design.

Think about it this way, when you go to the grocery store, you need to have a list and if the groceries are your responsibility because your wife has asked you to go, you better make sure you have a list that says exactly what she wants. Last thing you want to do is show up with soy milk when she's expecting buttermilk.

From a design standpoint, there are so many codes and regulations, all of these have to be chased down (with regards to occupancy, fire code, life safety) before you can definitively say "this will seat "X" number of people."

On these big projects, that's a big deal. Now judging from these renderings, they might not be all that far along in the design process and look of these buildings is very likely to change. But the feasibility numbers need to be pretty accurate when you are talking multiple tens of thousands of users.

It's funny that you think it looks like a renovated Hoff. If you read the article you'd see it is in fact NOT a renovated Hoff, but rather a renovated Hoff. ;)

Do you know what type of accounting a public university uses?

I think they said something in the article about $40 Million would come from naming rights for the football stadium. Not too shabby....

Couldn't be more proud of my school and how much it has grown in the short time since I graduated. It's almost like a completely different campus now.
