ths is a huge misconception. the adelman kings looked like they were deep and talented because they played so well together. The modified princeton offense made Divacs look far more effective than he really was (passing big man who could score down low). Same for Christie and Peja.

Look what happened to each of these guys when they left to other teams....Divacs exposed as too old and slow to play in the NBA, Peja became an inaccurate "stand at the 3 point line" shooter, Christie just flamed out, though his injury did have some to do with it.

I'm drooling just thinking what he can do with our all-star duo. Especially if we get a decent PG who can actually shoot in addition to handling the ball.

Worst case scenario is that the defense goes to pot, we still don't have the horses to outscore other teams and we are back in the lottery.

Wow is this simply outrageously wrong.

I wonder if they are pulling an old Houston Oilers...when they brought in Hugh Campbell, Warren Moon's coach to get him to come here.

Same thing with Adleman and Bibby.

And than we pick up a glue guy instead of the lottery player.

It's the rings first and the lottery second. The worst scenerio is JVG ball - stuck in mediocrity without new talents.

The Rockets will probably add athleticism at PG,PF,and the 3.I see Spanoulis having the chains taken off and splitting time with our new PG.Tracy finds his role.
With Adelman as coach and these changes there is no way in hell we are lottery bound.
    We WIN IT ALL.

One thing I am worried about is whter a new coach can keep TMac motivated enough like JVG did...

Bingo although it was a bit different with Vlade. Adelman would run him a lot at the top of the key and look for cutters from there. Vlade was sometimes in the post but Chris Webber was the one who passed a lot out of the post. And while I believe the media over-hypes his passing ability, it nevertheless is damn good and he was phenomenal at finding cutters.

Utah basically executed us to death (along with playing physical ball) in the first round, the same way Sacramento teams used to. I know Yao is a good passer but passing out of the post is an art, especially in an offense that is utterly dependent on it, since ball distribution is a burden of all playmakers instead of exclusively the point guard.

Personally, I think introducing the Princeton is a damn good idea. The Princeton Offense emphasizes precision and teamwork. It requires high b-ball IQ guys and allows a team to compensate for a lack of athleticism (to some degree, athleticism is still an issue that needs correcting) Also, guys like Rafer who can't do a damn thing to create his own shot, can probably make higher percentage shots off of strongly executed screens and subsequent cuts to the basket. The burden shifts from him trying to create shots by himself (which he sucks at and never can do) to getting in the right spot and out executing teams.

Guys like Battier, Howard, etc.. will play better in a system that utilizes their intelligence and basketball IQ. Battier was reduced to a functional three point shooter. In the Princeton, he can post up and look for cutters, and cut himself. He'll definitely score more since we won't be reduced to a stand up three point shooter.

All in all, yay Princeton Offense. I've argued for the introduction of some type of motion offense and it finally might happen.

Exactly, people take parts of an equation and begin to rationalize that individuals are greater than the sum of the equation. That is what leads to 12 mil a year contracts for a spot up shooter like Peja and even more $25 million buyouts for a MLE type Chris Webber. Most lottery teams fail to invest a coach whose system makes these players what they are. I'm not a big fan of Adelman but I can clearly see his system is better than JVG's.

Well, I suppose that is the absolute worst case scenario - but, barring injuries, I don't think that's really possible.

After his sorry performance, if Bonzi comes back, it will be on the Rockets terms and probably with a short leash.

But that Kings team have so many weapons:
Chris Webb, Brad Miller, Peja, Mike Bibby, Bobby Jackson, Hedo Turkoglu, Christie...

hard to say about that team

    1. They almost beat the eventual 3 time champ, and in series in which some say they were a better team. But in the end they were exposed for what they were a really good team that couldn't win title.

    2. Webber was in his prime in Sac-town, but he was also becoming a former shell of himself and missing so many games each season. Same with Peja.

    3. They had really deep roster, but one poster above said they didn't have alot of athletic guys...but they had great offense, although not as high-flying Dallas or Suns, it was more efficient and had more presence in the low post.

    4. We have two players who were better than anyone on Kings roster, but there is a great drop of after our two all-stars.

I think that Patterson back specialist had more to do with T-mac being motivated.. than JVG..

Bonzi won't be coming back unless it's for a multi year deal starting at the full MLE. The 2nd year on his current contract is for injury insurance purposes only.

What's the worry? Bring Adelman on!

But Luther Head, Rafer Alston, & VSpan better learn how to make layups and short/mid-range jumpers now.

I really dont know what to do with Juwan. Can we trade him?
