    Adelman is the man for the job.

    Sure he dosn't have the same tallent level as his popular Kings teams but who know's maybe when he gets on board he can bring some tallent over (Artest, Bibby, Ect.).

    Even if he dosn't he is a well expereinced coach and has handeled superstars through out his carrier.

    Nice move by Rox front office to consider this guy :cool:

    I just don't see how a long time NBA re-tread with no rings can get the BBS denizens jazzed up the way it has. Are you suggesting that an Adelman game plan will create fire and intensity where it did not previously exist?

    The story of Rockets coaching begins and ends with intangibles. The coach needs to possess them. Adelman is a fine coach, he's established that. But have any of his teams displayed the iron will to win? I think not. A coach of this team needs to get in McGrady's face and challenge his manhood- how Mac reacts will tell you whether the ball needs to be in his hands at 'winning time' or if it has to be elsewhere. A coach of this team needs to have championship cache, because no one on the current roster has had even a sniff of the Finals without a game ticket, let alone the ring itself.

    Leslie Alexander displays a tin ear and a ham fist by not shaking things up if he makes this choice. Mario Elie provides the intangibles that no player or coach in the present configuration possesses- the fire to win close games, the bulldog intensity on defense, and championship mettle with two different organizations. Anyone worried about a lack of head coaching experience, think about good assistants and you cover your bases.

    If not the Rockets, Mario Elie will create one tough bunch of SOBs somewhere else. Leslie is a fool if he doesn't even consider it.

    Before we get ahead of ourselves... Is there anywhere printed that Adelman would accept the job?

    Whoever is the coach better damn well bring some talent over. This is barely a 50 win team if Yao and T-mac are fully healthy (and that's a big if).

    Adelman's system works great if he can get his type of players.

    if Head can develop his midrange game (which I think he can) he is someone I can see excelling in Adelman's system

    His lack of ballhandling, his terrible passing (bounce-pass), inability to finish strong and small size are serious detractors in ANY system.

    Regardless, we need more than him as the 6th man if this team is going to improve.

    Wouldn't being a playoff player mean winning a series or coming up big in the clutch and not dissapearing?

    No to Webber. The last thing we need is a slow no D, washed up PF...we already have Jhoward.

    The only reason we took a vastly superior team in utah to 7 games was tracy McGrady. look at how they disposed of the warriors.

    For all the pros you mentioned, I can also have a long list of cons.
    Extreme high pressure;
    Extreme high expectations;
    Two stars have been injury prune;
    Owner who is not as willing to open checkbook as others;
    Inexperienced GM...

    Vastly superiour?

    WTF?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHH !!!

    They have a deeper team but the Rockets had the 2 best players on the court at all times.

    They are NOT vastly superior..

    This is the third time I've seen someone write for prune for prone. Is that a new fad? I think prine would be the typo...

    I've always liked Adelman.

    Maybe this will be the year for him to prove to everyone that he is a FINE coach with a right team.

    P.S.

    Why isn't the Rox org announcing that JVG is gone? It is obvious he is gone.

    Is Yao better than Boozer? Not in this playoffs... not in one-on-one coverage... not at rebounding... not in stamina... not in killer instinct... and what's the point of Yao's fancy passes if nobody can hit an open shot, or finish at the rim?

    It was better because our players back then could hit OPEN shots. Wesley, Barry, and even Sura had their 3 point strokes working for them throughout the second half... hell, it got so good they even invented that "3 finger wiggle" that looked a little... hmm...

    When a team with two all-stars on it barely cracks 20pts in the 1st Q regularly, a coaching change will get you excited.

    Yes, Yao is better than Boozer.

    However, Boozer is a quickness mismatch for Yao, which apparently JVG failed to diagnose over 7 games.
