OAKLAND — Fantasy football players across the country were able to breathe a sigh of relief that running back Arian Foster's benching against the Oakland Raiders lasted less than one half.

Coach Gary Kubiak benched Foster for the first half because he missed a team meeting and was late for another one. Kubiak told Foster he wouldn't start. Kubiak didn't know when he would play Foster.

Derrick Ward, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown, and Steve Slaton, who rushed for 37 yards, replaced Foster in the first half.

With 6:50 left in the first half and the score 14-14, Foster saw his first action. He finished with 131 yards on 16 carries. He ran for one touchdown and caught a 10-yard scoring pass. He finished with 187 yards from scrimmage.[/rquoter]

Kubiak said it was a series of actions over the last 10 days and that it was not a single event.

Dan Patrick of SNF said it best: "... then Gary Kubiak put [Foster] into the game... because he's REAL GOOD."

I wondered what in the heck was up with that in the beginning... no injury, no anything pointing to Foster's benching... then he carries it in the second half and "BOOM!" (a'la new Nike commercials) and he gets a 74-blast. DEAR GOD.

Diva is not the word, Foster isn't a loudmouth troublemaker like TO.

I think Foster is more like a very talented player who doesn't have his ish together.

If McClain reported it, whatever he said is most likely not the case

I don't think Arian would call out his team like T.O. He has a degree in Phiilosophy so I hope he knows what a diva does to a locker room that is so built around team unity.

Lance Zierlein said on his twitter that one of the knocks on Foster during the draft was that when things are going good for him he tends to have issues with acting like a professional.

These are the same "scouts" who didn't think he was good enough to be drafted.

I don't think he's a bad guy or a diva, but he seems to have one of those personalities that can rub people the wrong way. I think he's a very smart individual and he knows it, but he also doesn't completely fit in with the culture of a football locker room.
