Does anyone know of an integrated speel checker like ieSpell for Firefox? As you can tell, I'm pretty dependent on it.

<a href="http://www.dennis.ca/weblog/archives/000396.php">Apparently there is one</a>. It seems that it's not setup to work with Firefox too well, but <a href="http://www.dennis.ca/weblog/archives/000420.php">there are some instructions</a>.

    Please don't flame me, but...

I can't tell much of a difference between IE and Firefox. If anything, Firefox is slower for me. It doesn't scroll up and down as fast and some of the movements are choppy. I tried it the last time this subject came up and went back to IE. Last night, I tried it again and went back to IE again.

Different strokes for different folks I guess...

Downloaded and am currently using the classic theme also. The only annoyance is not being able to use the 'forward' and 'back' buttons when surfing through different sites, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Pretty deece, and I like the overall concept much more than IE.

Would you mind explaining what that concept is? I'm serious. I don't notice a whole lot of difference. At least not enough to get me to switch just yet.

I think Bookmark management is much better than IE, the popup blocker and google search bar is great and the extensions make it better than IE.
Open source is turning into the way to go in the technology world. Me likey.

Oh and the download manager is a godsend. I never knew where all my downloads went and what I had downloaded on IE.

I like the bookmark and download manager with this interface a lot. I also dig the overall look and I've noticed most pages are downloading much faster after installing Firefox.

    Diggin' it. Buh-bye IE...

I'm in my 24th hour of using it, and have no complaints. Much faster and easier to use than IE.

That said, I'm always looking to trash things on my computer to grab more disk space. Would deleting IE be worth it? How much space would that usually take off? Has anyone else uninstalled IE?

You can't delete IE. Running the "uninstall" only removes the icon. It's still there . . .

Uninstalling IE is supposed to be possible...but I wouldnt recommend it.

Windows is heavily dependent on shared code with IE..and even tho it is claimed you can get it out without screwing up windows...I wouldnt trust them to tell us how to do it without problems.

    http://windows.about.com/gi/dynamic...crosoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q293/9/07.ASP
tells youhow to do it...but Imo,,, do it at your own risk.

I really wouldnt imagine that you will save that much space by doing it considering that mainly all the uninstall does is remove user access to the code.

I had been using Mozilla for a while now and liking it quite a bit. I got the FireFox now, which is especially nice since I didn't use any of the non-browser features of Mozilla anyway.

Well, considering our IT department consists of a 60 something year old dude and his wife, I honestly don't think they even know about Firefox. Having talked to the guy before, he is not really what you would consider a "techie" sort of guy. He knows his stuff, but he doesn't live it like a lot of people and I don't think he honestly cares which browser he uses.

have you tried one of the nightlies of camino v .8? i like the new chromed theme, and it seems fastern than .7. it also renders a couple of pages correctly that safari has trouble with. check out the alignment on http://opinionjournal.com

safari pushes the main content table to the right, but maybe that's just my computer's personal preference!

That's not just you. It will push it away from wherever your dock is located and that annoys the hell out of me.

I have been using FireFox non-stop for a couple days and I love it. It is the only browser that seems to work basically seemlessly with virutually every site. There were some sites I had to switch between Safari and IE, etc.

I have never liked the Mozilla look for form fields, buttons, etc. Anyone know of skins out there that improve upon those ugly ass square buttons?

By the way, if you have Safari and want to convert your bookmarks, there is a freebie software that allows them to be converted...

    Safari Bookmark Extractor

It doen't have FireFox included in this version but you can convert to FireBird and move the bookmarks into your profile folder and it works great.

No, I'm not sharing those preferences, but that's a good idea.

My ESPN motion doesn't always want to load correctly through Firefox. Vengence, do you have those links handy for me to download spybot and adaware? I am on a friends computer and am trying to get rid of the spyware. The enter key is broken on the keyboard....great.
