Battier has seriousely worked on he's offensive game in the offseason. he's developed a great repatoire of low post moves. last year he had that runner and obviously that primeter shot, but this season he has developed a hook shot and a few nifty low post moves.

Even he's outside shot is looking better. he can hit the tray from anywhere now. last season he was a good tray shooter rom the corners, but this season he seems to be able to nail it from everywhere.

He's our doug christy. i see him being a better or atleast more offensively minded player this year.

I remember hearing Battier once saying part of the reason why he skipped the TEAM USA duty is so that he had time to work on his body and work on his game. He said the previous tour at the 2006 FIBA deprived him of some work time and tired him out a bit.

I believe him since he's showing up with significantly more meat on him than before. The Meatier Battier is going to be the Bettier Battier.

It will be very interesting to see what Battier can do when he has a bit more freedom on the offensive end and not just be a 3-point shooter.

Nevermind the game against the Sonics; the game against Dallas, he was taking the ball to the hole strongly and drawing fouls. He also seems to be a pretty decent ball handler and able to conduct / intiate / direct a fast break.

Let's just hope he steers clear of Jackie Butler.
