well put; exactly what i tried to say but lacked your clarity. good coaches can find a place for guys like julius peppers and derrick johnson. period. do you think bellicheck would ever say, "nah; doesn't fit our system."?

I never would have thought the Texans would have become such a mess. That team is in shambles.

On a side note, when Bud Adams dies, can we change our team name to the Oilers? I think we will start kicking ass when we go back to those old unis. Those rocked the hizouse.

"We're the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers #1, we've got the offense, we've got the defense, we give the other team no hope, cuz we're the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers..."

gabriel, i picked up on the sarcasm...don't worry about it.

and by the way the texans aren't going to be the only team to pay for passing on DJ, he easily could have been taken top 10. there are about 9 teams that will regret not gettting this guy. i saw him play 4 years at texas (dad has season tickets) and he is one of the most special players i've ever seen, on either side of the ball. an absolute monster.

I had a feeling that DJ would mature into a top notch stud at his position once he made it to the NFL . The Texans not drafting him last year had to be one of the most dissapointing draft days of my life . When he was there for the taking I was so pumped up . I couldnt believe he had fallen down that far and he was there for us to draft ...... and then we didnt do it . Talk about an up then way down feeling . But hey we got Babin what are we worried about ?

To me passing on Derrick Johnson is right up there with the Rashard Lweis fiasco.

Yup..just cause he doesn't fit the system now doesn't mean he would adapt and be a playmaker. How much longer are we going to have Capers....at lot less time then we would have had Johnston and moved him wherever we needed him to play.

On the Rashard thing...it's all cause and effect...we might not have the team we have now if he was drafted etc etc.....but DJ should have been drafted.

I realize that too. But at the time it wouldn't have hurt to draft him.

key difference: johnson was taken in the first round. he was taken seriously by OTHER teams participating in the same draft. rashard lewis, on the other hand, was not.
