    I agree with this.....

But, He has earned a fair amount of criticism.... How much? I am not sure....

Again, What have you done for me lately?
I think people back Yao because you can never question
his courage and effort, while Tracy's court demeanor makes
    you want to vomit....

Not blame. An observation, Do you agree with it? I was
more or less asking a question...

I do believe our "leader" and his court demeanor
can most certainly distract our other players...

    knote32,

imo, people back yao because he's affable, overcome cultural hurdles to be here, and is relatable. his slowness is an acceptable fault because he appears to works hard. mac otoh, is the supremely blessed athlete that appears to have no physical limitations, makes more $ than we can imagine, yet has a sleepy, oft lazy demeanor. in short, he's easy to hate out of no other reason than jealousy. who wouldn't want to be that talented? and when he doesn't succeed, people heap the blame on him because he is an all world talent.

that said, yao skates so much. he is afforded the luxury of mailing in games vs smaller opponents. that's a lack of effort. when yao has 6 dunk games and follows it with a 6 blown layup game, its lack of effort.

shane, too. he's so affable and pc. no one pays attention to the fact that his game hasn't improved one iota since being drafted. yet if you ran a poll, asking who had the better work ethic (mac or shane), shane would win in a landslide.

if we're going to discuss effort, let's see all sides of the prism. mac has dogged games. yao has, too. shane, carl, rafer et al, as well. fans just focus on mac more...

I would agree to that.. to an extent. esp in the Toronto game

but... if the players stil think T-Mac is the leader of the team.. i dunno... they must be mad.. and i agree it would distract them too... they sud still get ahead with the game.. the coach should have benched T-
    Mac immediately..

    and

i think the laziness is because of deferring to T-MAc on almost all possessions.. they throw the ball to him and expect him to create almost everytime... i won't blame tracy for that... never.

I do not agree with one word of that.........
Comparing Tracy's effort to Shane Battier is complete and utter blasphemy...
    WOW!

I'm talking about working on their game. I should have been more specific. my fault. in game effort, yes. shane. working on their game overall? different story.

and you disagree with the 1st half of that post, as well? interesting. why?

I think that sums it up well...

Rick and DM have essentially benched Tracy for 2 weeks(They did it the
nice, diplomatic way). But hell, Atleast we don't have to worry about him for a couple weeks hey? And if he comes back ready to play hard, BONUS!

We desperately need Ronald back though

Why? Hmmm, well, to put it shortly....

What does Ronald say about Yao?
"He is a beast" "Hardest worker I have ever seen" "Warrior"

What does Ronald say about Tracy?
"He has a ton of talent"

Did Jeff Van Gundy not say Yao was the hardest worker he had ever coached?

    And about Shane......
I LOVE how he has improved.........He has perfected his three
ball since becoming a Rocket, and has a vastly underrated post
game that he adds to every year...
To think he hasn't worked hard to improve is ridiculous.....
He was FREAKIN RUNNER UP DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR last year...
    AND HE WAS ROBBED

    I'd call that serious improvement.......
Can you possibly fathom how much he practices and watches film
to be the kind of defender he is. How he gets those unathletic feet
moving and containing the likes of Lebron and Kobe is beyond me.....

Do you know what it is?

    Hard "offseason" work paying off...

I didn't say yao doesn't work hard on his game. re-read my post.

as for shane, good point. he has improved his defense since being in the league.

good post. I don't think anybody can dispute Battier's credentials and what he brings to the team.. just look at the way we play D when he is not there...

Tmac quits on his team whenever his overinflated ego isnt fulfilled, Tmac thinks his talents can make up for his lack of efforts, he's mentally weak, propabably the weakest of any pro athlete i have seen, if you are still debating this issue, you should give it a rest, he's nothing if his fragile body cant take it to the rack, ron artest who isnt blessed with the athletism that tracy has have been far more effective this season, it's all about toughness, and don't give me the affable ****, tmac looks so old and weak out there sometimes, you wonder if he should retire altogether and wonder if a large part of his chromosome is not made out of the female variant.

    Carladyfan,

affable is not an insult or a backhanded compliment. and as much as you hate mcgrady, this team has a better chance of winning a championship WITH him.

Who cares with or without Shaq. He won and tmac didn't.
    Winning speaks volume, whining doesn't.

never said it was, but it's just an excuse to make for a pro elite earning 22 mill a year, and do not contribute a third of what he is paid for, in fact not contributed at all this season, no one is jealous of T-mac, if he performed on a nightly basis like kobe bryant he would be treated like a deity, but instead, he's just a diva, so much drama, with little substance, i dont care if he's moody or he isolate himself from his teammate but, him giving up on court, that's not injury, that's a sort of mental illness, it started two seasons ago, and gets worst and worst, so how much is enough? Some people just cant handle the pressure, macgrady is one of them, sorry, he gets more and more pathetic with each passing season. Not that i wish he cant magically turn things around, but if ur reasonable you would know it is not likely to happen. is T-Mac feeling sorry for himself? sometimes you get the impression that it is all he ever thinks about.

All McGrady critics now will lick his ass by playoffs. Like last season.

Well Wade did get out of the first round of the playoffs without Shaq in his rookie year with just Lamar Odom and Rafer as help.
