I agree that Dorsey is unproven but I 'd prefer to wait after pre-season before labelling him anything. However, it stilll doesn't explain your Landry evangelism :D

Actually, I just think Landry has a lot more that he can show. I think he's still developing and his PER is off the charts. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't trade NBDL Ian Mahnmi's rights either if I were the Spurs cause guys with high PER's like Landry and Mahinmi's don't grow on trees.

    This guy still hasn't graduated?

I guess Morey wasn't joking about his grades, lol.

I'll not keep my hopes up... I wish him luck... I'm more excited to see Luis Scola's improvement next year...

Harris is history if Dorsey can play defense at all, especially if he can play some C. Unless Harris has suddenly developed a 12 foot jumper out of nowhere.

That is because the Chron buys out all its competition. It bought the Post (oh, how I miss the Houston Post), and the bought out a few small papers that were starting to surface around 2000-2 that weren't even big yet. Combine that with the fact that no one with the resources and money want to take that risk, especially because they think newspapers in general will be faded out.

I am thrilled with Dorsey that can finish around the rim. I am re-watching Rox vs Jazz Gm 3, even Doug Collins was surprised how many shots the Rockets missed around the rim.

Dorsey is also a rebound monster especially at offensive board.

Dorsey FT% is not bad at all when u compared with the other Rockets PFs:
    Scola ~65%
    Landry ~65%
    Hayes ~45%

Dorsey maybe ~40%, but at least Dorsey has a normal stroke (Dorsey's stroke looks as good as Josh Boone, but both just misses). So, Allen Iversion & Keyon Martin wont laugh their asses off.

I hope Dorsey proves everybody wrong day in and day out.

However, I still believe that the appearance of 6-7 Dorsey means the disappearance of 6-6 Hayes. Since there is no trade market for Hayes, he will wind up being bought out and cut.

Confident enough in the belief to put down a $200 tip jar donation bet?

If Hayes gets bought out and cut, I'll donate $200 to the tip jar for Clutchfans. If not, you make the $200 donation to Clutchfans.

It never ceases to amaze me how much this board undervalues Chuck Hayes.

2nd that. There would have to be a serious jam at the PF position for us not to want chuck on this team. In certain situations, you almost have to have a player like him. I haven't seen Dorsey play but a couple games, and would need to see for my own eyes over an extended period of time if he will be even as good as hayes on the defensive end.

    Chuck Hayes present?

Yao ends game with 3 fouls

    Chuck Hayes absent?

Yao ends game with 4-6 fouls. Can't put Chuck's effectiveness on paper.

That's pretty crazy to play college ball until you are 25 and still have not a degree. That's 7 years! Don't you have to be full time to play ball?

He is only 24 right now (turns 25 in Dec.) He was only at Memphis for 4 yrs. He did not red shirt. Meaning he was 19 when he entered college. The before that he went to a 1 high school and 2 different prep schools, which is probably why it took an extra year to grad from high school.

Hayes is undervalued because he is undersized, offensively challenged and is probably the only player in the NBA that will shoot free throws worse than Dorsey. Is there another team that would trade for him?

Morey probably won't cut him but he should. We have three height-challenged PFs -- Landry (6-7), Hayes (6-6) and Dorsey (6-7). Landry can sink a jumper, Dorsey can block a shot, and Hayes can...well, he can't do anything Landry and Dorsey can't.

How about by season's end Dorsey is playing more minutes than Hayes. Which in effect makes Hayes expendable. I'll bet $100 on that.

So... the end of regular season plus playoffs (hopefully), total number of minutes played as a Houston Rocket. Hayes v. Dorsey. Now that's an more even proposition. Can't be sure about it (whereas I am sure that "buyout/cut" won't happen), but I'll take that bet. Let's talk gain (I hope in June rather than April).
