This. Didn't Daryl Morey even say last week on the radio that there is "just no minutes available for him"?
Many teams are wanting young talent. IMO he will be a fill in on a trade. This will basically showcase him a bit. I could see Morey telling other GM's, look I'll throw in Joey Dorsey, he's a rebounding beast and is a real asset. We've had Joey working in the D-league to sharpen his skills and he could make a impact on a young team.
Yup. He's just gonna ride the pine and be sent back down. I really dont see a fit for Dorsey here. Too good for the d-league but bench warmer/15th man in the NBA.
Good to see Dorsey back, he worked and played hard to get 1st Team All D-League. Hopefully he will get some minutes and control the paint and grab some defensive rebounds.
I think this move has very little to do with trades. I think the team has a stretch where they can have some meaningful practices, so they brought Dorsey back so he can practice with the team and they can see how he has progressed. That's all. The only way I can see this being meaningful on the trade front is that Morey/Adelman get a chance to take a close look at Dorsey and Harris in case they ship out more players than they take back and have to fill out another roster spot with one of these guys.
I agree, although the Rockets have already let go of Harris. I am thinking, they've noticed that the backup PG is getting a big amount of our teams rebounds in recent games, so they might try to bring him in to see what he can do. If he is finally up to snuff, he may eat up more of Andersen and Hayes minutes because of his ability to play defense and rebound.
