Rodney Stuckey would be great on this team.

Asik CANNOT be traded no matter what Houston does . He is the most important player on the bench

    I think so, too.

Getting a defensive wing who can shoot is huge, since you can play Chandler at PF and play that way, with Dwight or Asik being a tree in the lane.

    Yes I did.....:p

I think we are a lot closer to being a SERIOUS title contender than people realize, and like you, I also wish that one of the players that you mentioned eventually becomes our third star! Hopefully we're able to get a solid wing defender that has a little pop in his shooting, and that doesn't affect the team chemistry in a negative way...;) In Morey We Trust

Lin disagrees. Asik isn't as good as what he does as Lin.

This team is only missing one big piece to be a contender: A defensive wing player who can lock down, or at least somewhat slow down Durant and Lebron.

    Thaddeous Young. Period.

I really think he would push us over the top, along with Spencer Hawes coming in that Trade.

His contract extends beyond 2015, but this is the trade that will do the honors for us.

Have you seen the latest prospects. Picks are so overrated because they take time to develop and that's not even a guarantee. Even the best prospect of all time, LBJ, took time to develop before competing. It's a wet dream to think a just drafted player is as valuable as a season high end vet when a team is in win now mode.

AS LONG AS SPENCER HAWES DOESN'T BRING HIS OWN TOILET PAPER, I'M COOL WITH IT.

(I set the filters fairly low.)

Guys off that list who conceivable could be available and more or less fit the mold:

    Luol Deng
    Danny Granger
    Jeff Green
    Wilson Chandler

    Gerald Green
    P.J. Tucker
    Jared Dudley
    Trevor Ariza
    DeMarre Carroll
    Brandon Rush
    Matt Barnes
    Martell Webster
    Khris Middleton

    Kyle Korver
    Mike Dunleavy

    Paul Millsap
    Thad Young

Most of these guys don't do much for me, personally.
I'd want somebody that you could throw at LeBron and Durant to make things a little tougher. Off that list, really the only guys who I could see doing a decent job are Deng, Jeff Green, Wilson Chandler and perhaps Thad Young and Millsap in spots.

    Thad = Wing D + shot ~ Asik + prospect
    Korver + prospect = shot ~ Asik
    MKG + filler = Wing D ~ Asik
    Deng + filler = Wing D + shot ~ Asik + Lin
Wilson Chandler + prospect = Wing D + shot ~ Asik or Lin
    Granger + filler = Wing D + shot ~ Asik+ Lin
    Gordon + filler = shot ~ Asik + Lin + prospect
    Afflalo + filler = Wing D + shot ~ Asik or Lin + prospect + filler

I think those are the realistic targets, what they fill, and what they cost us.

Wilson Chandler and Jordan Hamilton for Asik would put us in a good position now and the future, as I'd think he'd be easily moved 'if' cap room was needed. I honestly think Morey goes over the cap next year.

Yes but per the CBA he has to be traded alone. The Cavs can't combine him with another player although they could break a large deal into 2 separate trades.

I'd be very suprised IF the Cavs try to trade Deng after what they gave up to aquire him, Cavs new GM took over a mess of a team Lol

Why would Phoenix give up PJ Tucker when he is playing an important role for them and they are chasing a playoff spot? My guess is that the guy Morey gets, if he gets anyone, is going to come from a tanking "seller" team.

Also, unless we are talking about a guy that clearly takes the team to the next level, we are likely looking at a small contract guy. Any bigger contract deals would have to involve Lin or Asik. Their balloon payments cause issues for some trade partners so you don't get that much value for either of them. Also, these guys do fill a role for the Rockets so trading them would create holes that need to be filled.

The set of circumstances under which it would make sense to make a bigger money deal is rather narrow.
